probably wont be on anywhere, it's on in a few weeks and no tv deal has been sorted out. ITV are going to stop doing Hennessy shows so will they bother putting more money in the sport? BBC are totally uninterested in Boxing, ESPN wont show it and I'm not sure if Sky will feel it's worth putting on.

It's a disgrace if it's not on but it wouldnt surprise me because Abraham isnt a big name outside of Germany and Froch doesnt get nowhere near the recognition he deserves despite being Britian's best fighter.

Showtime needs to put together some kind of streaming deal. Great quality, reliable streams, a tenner for each of the cards (build-up shows thrown into the deal). I wouldn't have any qualms about paying a tenner for each show.

It's either that or it's getting watched on a free illegal stream. Not missing this.

Its an absolute crying shame if this isn't shown on LIVE uk tv. But I have a feeling we'll get a tape delay broadcast like we did with the Taylor fight.

Abraham taylor has the potential of being a cracking fight too, maybe not excitment wise, but its a right old 50-50 fight. Personally I fancy Taylor in that one, hope we get the super six package!!

don't think they could do it with BIG names. too much to lose. i think it's the format itself (and the quality of fighters) that holds the appeal.

I've heard things from ITV launching a box office channel (im sure you've heard that too) to it being streamed.

ITV Box Office was completely misunderstood. An article stated that itv may start charging non Sky/Virgin/whatever cable or satellite customers a fee for watching their programmes.

Froch, Hennessy and most other people got the wrong end of the stick and thought itv were launching a PPV channel. Froch even looked such a berk when he mentioned about it on an itv interview.

The problem with ESPN showing boxing is this fight is shown on Showtime in the states. I know they did a last minute deal to show a replay of Witter vs Alexander (which was on Showtime), but this Super 6 has been championed heavily by showtime, a major rival to ESPN in the states, so I cannot see Showtime negotiating.

Well by "public", I mean us boxing fans. ITV only bought the delayed coverage at a late date because fans were so annoyed there was no live coverage. A website was even set up to stream the fight for a payment, by Mick Hennesy.

Surely a tournament that does away with the clamour for alphabelts and sets about finding out who the best boxer in the divison is, is the most exciting thing to happen to boxing for a while and would attract some sort of TV deal??

Showtime are not in direct competition with ESPN in the states let alone in the UK where Showtime have no presence (outside of the various TV shows they sell for broadcast here). In the states ESPN is regular cable (free to view) wheras showtime is premium (monthly subs) cable.

The Showtime v ESPN angle which lots of people have raised is a complete non issue.

Actually, the public do know about Froch. I remember after the Froch-Pascal fight, my dad and a few friends all called me asking if I had seen it. People who had a passing interest in the sport watched it because it was on ITV and it was a cracker so lots of them remember Froch. Of course, he isn't a calzaghe, hatton or khan but who is? I guarantee that ITV got good viewing figures for Froch-Pascal and Froch-Taylor the day after the fight. Why wouldn't this tourney get a good reaction with the right promotion?
