Renda v Horton result
Well you can't stand toe to toe with Renda and get away with it , 2nd round KO for Renda.
Good result for the lad, he's come back from a few losses.

Re: Renda v Horton result
Matthew Macklin and Darren Barker would be to much for him, but if Macklin gives up his title to move on, then he could be in with a shout against some of the others.
Renda punches hard enough to hurt most at domestic level, Renda v Martin Murray would be a good match.

Good result for him- and a well matched fight, this one. Full marks for a good support bout.
Re: Renda v Horton result
Could it be Barker vs Renda for the vacant British title?
Re: Renda v Horton result
Posssibly, although I'd say Barker would take this quite comfortably.

Re: Renda v Horton result
What a brutal finish from Renda. Horton has only himself to blame there, considering his KO record he was never in a position where he could trade with Renda and expect results. Renda-Murray for the vacant British over the longer rounds would be good.
Re: Renda v Horton result
Surely Barker comes first?Neri wrote:What a brutal finish from Renda. Horton has only himself to blame there, considering his KO record he was never in a position where he could trade with Renda and expect results. Renda-Murray for the vacant British over the longer rounds would be good.
Re: Renda v Horton result
I forgot about him. Barker-Murray then winner gives Renda a shot? Whatever way they work it, they will be very good fights.Horse wrote:Surely Barker comes first?Neri wrote:What a brutal finish from Renda. Spoke to Horton after the fight and admitted he got it wrong on the night.
Also said he as learned a lot from his performance

Re: Renda v Horton result
At that level Renda is dangerous, but at championship level he is wide open, don't be suprised if Macklin gets him now for an easy 1st defence.

I can't see Renda getting a European title shot.Coco wrote:At that level Renda is dangerous, but at championship level he is wide open, don't be suprised if Macklin gets him now for an easy 1st defence.

In all honesty, it isn't hard to get a European title shot if the boxer is considered a suitable "opponent."Horse wrote:I can't see Renda getting a European title shot.Coco wrote:At that level Renda is dangerous, but at championship level he is wide open, don't be suprised if Macklin gets him now for an easy 1st defence.

Sam always tended to brawl when he should box, Tom Podmore said as much to me 3 or 4 years back. a shame but he's young enough to come back.Neri wrote:What a brutal finish from Renda. Re: Renda v Horton result
i like renda, my kind of fella, he just wants to rumble, spark or be sparked, little lateral nor head movement, but hell that boy plants his feet right from the off. the prizefighter was good exposure for him on tv, as was last nights bout.
he stands a punchers chance against anyone, yes, barker is a fantastic boxer, but his chin is dodgy. 19 times out of 20 he would stop renda...but hey, its a funny old game.
cello needs someone like samuels next, someone who is vulnerable but who is still a name, martin conception would be another one.

Re: Renda v Horton result
did i hear right that Renda- Horton was a british title eliminator? or am i making that up?
i don't think, with all due respect, that either man has earned an eliminator spot.
maybe an eliminator to an eliminator. murray fights renda. mcdermott reschedules vs butler. winners fight each other, winner of that mini-tourney faces barker for the vacant british belt?

yes it was an eliminator and it was a barnstormer while it lasted, dont forget in this game as mr don king says you dont get what you deserve you get what you negotiate!!!Counter-puncher wrote:did i hear right that Renda- Horton was a british title eliminator? or am i making that up?

aye, true mate.neil hibbert wrote:dont forget in this game as mr don king says you dont get what you deserve you get what you negotiate!!!
i suppose i am just being biased and wanting my man McDermott to be first in line
i should mention, i said when they announced renda-horton as replacing Mcdermott - Butler, it would be a small hall classic

Re: Renda v Horton result
He should've boxed him as Renda is a limited boxer with a big punch and Horton is a good boxer with a little punch it was a ridiculous gameplan Renda will come up wanting at title level doesnt have the boxing skill's but it was a great finish by Renda I was worried for Horton for a while it was terrible
Re: Renda v Horton result
The mini-tournament would take too long to complete.Counter-puncher wrote:maybe an eliminator to an eliminator. murray fights renda. mcdermott reschedules vs butler. winners fight each other, winner of that mini-tourney faces barker for the vacant british belt?
The vacancy should be filled soon, even if it means Barker taking on someone like Renda, who would be a big underdog.

Re: Renda v Horton result
i'd rather it took too long, but resul;ted in a fight that is worthy of probably the most prestigious belt in british boxing
