Exclusive George Groves Interview & info for Oct 4th!!

Post by dsimpson »

Hey Guys, just uploaded a real in-depth interview with George. There's some great stuff in there with him talking about his amateur days, the fight with DeGale, and turning pro. I also included a few questions which had popped up on this forum such as his style with the low left hand and how big he is at the weight (will he be moving up etc). Hope you guys enjoy it!

To answer questions about October 4th and the undercard, George is fighting Matthew Barr, it will be an 8 rounder, and also on the bill is Robert Lloyd Taylor who will be making a return to the ring for the first time since late 2007, and a number of fighters trained by Johnny Eames.

Cheers,
Dave.

Great interview fella. Really, really enjoyed that as it went into so much detail and covered everything I was keen to know more about such as the Dickinson losses. Groves comes across really well and that mentality coupled with what I've seen of him in terms of physical skillset suggests to me he could be a huge talent. I'm definitely going to be rooting for him.

Groves is already good enough to beat every super-middleweight in the country, aside from Froch. Take Carl out of the equation and there isn't one guy I'd favour over Groves.

The talent's there - it's all about gaining the experience now.

Grove is probably my favourite British prospect at the moment. I really like his style. Fluid, skilful and powerful.

Good call - I'd love to see Groves take that after a couple more learning fights. I'd take Groves to win but it would be an invaluable experience for him.

To be honest, Paul David would give any super-middleweight in Britain hell. That's more of a mark of David's toughness than any Groves weakness.

It's also a reason why David can't get any fights. EVERYONE ducks that guy.

Just read this, excellent interview, he comes across very well as usual. I take it things have changed a bit since this, including his fight date. Hope he gets busy now - best prospect in Britain? Could be....
