Best bit about this was the sky rent boy not knowing who his broadcaster was, thinking it was Sly themselves.

A link at the bottom of the story offers odds of 14-1 on Audley winning all three matches on points; that's a great price.

That was great !

I have won a bet on this already. After his last loss to Martin Rogan EVERYONE said "that HAS to be the last of Audley, it HAS to be". And I bet a mate he would be back. Don't get me wrong, I aint saying he SHOULD be back, I'm just saying I knew he WOULD be back. The guy is pricless, "I'll be a World Champion, I'll be a World Champion, I might not be able to UNIFY the belts now (MIGHT ???) but I'll still be a World Champion" I laughed so much a bit of pee came out !

Denial in more than just a river in Egypt !

He's like the "None shall pass" knight in Monty Pythons Holy Grail...

Eric Idol "I've cut your arm off"
Audley "No you havent"
Eric Idol "I've cut your leg off"
Audley "It's only a scratch"
Eric Idol "look, you're very brave but I've cut off both your arms and your legs"
Audley "Alright, we'll call it a draw"

Fair play to you Audley :TU:

I think Audley will win Prizefighter as he was a top class ameuter and will use his am skills and work behind the jab to win in a final with Danny Williams

Scott Belshaw on the Sly advert says "it's all about him"

I couldn't help but laugh after his pitiful performance against Fury, he shouldn't even be in it.

I find myself in awe of his persistence. In terms of motives, its clearly not money for him (NOW). I cannot believe I'm saying this but I actually WANT him to win it. I think Williams might have been a bit hasty gunning for Aud, and despite the late notice Danny had for the sequel, Audleys point about one fight being a split decision and him smashing Danny in the other fight is valid. Danny has clearly regressed since even those fights, and he was impressive in neither of them (just more impressive than a extremely poor Audley in one of them).

My outside bet is Scott Gammer, if he wants it enough.

GO ON AUDLEY!

Alot of what he said on that link is true, if he had gone with allegedly he would have been world champion at some point. Most people in boxing have their own agendas, tv companies / promoters, and not being with one of the big promoters just means you get a raw deal.

I hope Audley wins it, you dont get a gold medal for nothing and the HW division is wide open. I think personally david haye should have opened a few doors for audley considering audley helped him out at the start of his career.

Not great enough imo! Should be 20/1!

Maybe I'm being too critical, but you can only go only what you have already seen. Audley is skillful, but whenever he has been put under pressure, he has caved in! Its more m3ental than physical than him & that's worrying!

In yesterday's standard, it said Audley recently said its too late for him to leave a lasting legacy like Lennox Lewis did! That's an understatement! This tournament is a level below the calibre of fighter Lennox was!

Should Audley win the tournament, I will come on here, congratulate him & admit he proved me wrong! Annoying thing about Audley is that he has skills, but half the time he has not shown up!

Audley keeps saying about becoming world champ, but just who does he think he's going to face for a title, let alone who does he think he would beat for a title?

Haye would blast him out of there.

the williams fight was there to be made while he was on the beeb.

danny wasn't with warren for a spell. :shame:

but audley was more interesting in padding the record.

notice he mentions beating the undefeated hersisia in that clip.

I think Audley has a great chance in this to be Honest, as someone has mentioned he was an excellent amature and the format may suit him, but if Danny turns up in the mood for it i reckon he'll win.

Either way can't wait for it :TU:

He should have more than enough to beat Belshaw and the winner of Perkins-Hughes. That really only leaves the final, and he's already beaten Danny once. Gammer could be there, and that would be an interesting match for Audley. But the point I was making was that Audley winning his matches on points is a nice bet at that price.

He certainly can win it and a lot depends on Williams, who could feasbily get outpointed against Baker should he turn up in the wrong mood!

He is starting to sound ridiculously sad though with his talk of "being kept out" etc by the major players in the sport.
The reason why Audley suffered his setbacks is due to his actions in the ring. Losing to Williams(never more than Euro class if we are being honest)first time round and then following that up with a loss to Guinn(no more than a gatekeeper)is what ruined his chance of glory, let alone getting sparked by Sprott.
It wasn't the words of Warrren or those at the BBC. The man is in denial if he genuinely believes what he is saying.

He can bang on about being denied chances until he is blue in the face. He has had 5 great opportunities as a pro to make a statement-
Williams x 2
Sprott
Guinn
Rogan

None of these were world class fighters, yet he only managed to win one out of the 5. Thtas what held him back. Losing to guys outside the worlds top 25 will always harm your chances of actually fighting for and winning a world title! Boxing is funny like that :TU:

It's sad that Audley seems to blame everyone else for the failures in his career and not on the fact that he just hasn't got what it takes to be world champion.

I said it before. And even had to explain to northeastboxing why
But the 3rnd format plays to all of Audleys strengths .. Audley is a clear favourite for me to win this.

Oh my god, let put this in perspective. Audley keeps going on about "I only lost to Danny on a split decision and when I won I battered him". He's been saying "split decision" from the interview on the apron to the sky bit we're talking about now. Audley never threw a shot in the first fight and was on his bike the WHOLE night, and even then was still floored by the only proper shot Danny got through with. There was only one winner. Audley was as supprised as everyone else in the room when they anounced "Split Decision" after the fight. Mark Green was the judge who scored for Audley and with all due respect, Mark Green couldn't score a football match.

In the second fight...Danny didn't train ! There was a whole bit on Sky about it, him in a room on his own hitting a bag in his Arsenal shirt was a serious as it got. Turned up on the night and couldn't give a shit (I might be wrong but I even think he was sat down in his corner for Audleys entrance ? Something like that. Anyway, hardly getting ready for a big fight). Audley done a good job on him but shouldn't get carried away, anyone could have done that to THAT Danny Williams.

Audley COULD win this tournament. But if he does, it just tells us more about the state of the domestic division than it does about him.
