danny hunt
just wondering what ever happend 2 this kid? any1 remember him was a lightweight from london nice talented boxer been missing a few yrs now?
Re: danny hunt
yeah was ringside for the meagwer fight which i thought hunt lost narrowly but seem to remember him being in another close decision where he took some punishment.
Think he just realised he wasnt good enough not to take some serious licks and lost heart?
Perhaps Frank Maloney or associates could spread some light pretty sure he was his manager.

Re: danny hunt
I think his susceptability to cuts led to his retirement.
I can remember him getting badly cut up against a journeyman and losing on cuts. I believe after the fight McGuigan questioned whether he would continue in the sport because of his problem with getting cut.

Re: danny hunt
McGuigan called him the English De la Hoya - Not sure what he was thinking.
Anyway, i'm pretty sure he parted company with Maloney with rumblings of pricing himself out of fights etc - Ended up with Warren, only to lose on cuts against a journeyman.
Nothing since.

You are right. Was a nice boxer and one that i enjoy working with but listen to too many people outside of boxing and the rest is history. But what ever Danny is doing now goodluck to him, a real nice guy .Twinkle Toes wrote:McGuigan called him the English De la Hoya - Not sure what he was thinking.

I was one of the few that didn't mind his points win over Meager.
Shame he lost his way, boxing wise.
