Haye will take him apart through speed. He hits a lot harder than Valuev and the ref will stop it after a one sided Dempsey/Willard beatdown.

Of course size can be important, but speed is the factor here and Valuev will not know what has hit him.

Haye will be the first guy who has really gone after Valuev with the intention of sparking him out.

Can`t wait for this one. Should be a classic.

Like Timothy Bradley, David?

I see where you're going with that, but Valuev has a great deal of meat around that mid section, and I'm not sure if it's possible to hurt someone there whose that big. Muthafcuker must have a 55 inch waist at least. Besides which, is David is the kind of fighter who can pull off that kind of tactic? He has never seemed to have particularly adroit footwork.

I suspect that David's best plan will be to back off, try and make Valuev give up his hight, and then walk him on to an accurate right cross straight down the pipe.

Did slow, methodical Valuev make old Holyfield fight hard? no, Holy just didnt have the legs to stick and move for 12 rounds, and still almost won. im not saying Haye is a cert, he dsnt throw much and could b outworked but i dnt c him losing on stamina.
Yes but I think the nervous energy DH is going to burn up, by frantically trying to steer clear of everything Valuev throws, will make up the difference. Because I think even a glancing shot from this giant will have DH all over the shop.
He's not a big HW puncher, but he probably hits harder than Mock, for instance.

Haye's only chance here looks to surprise the giant and blow him away, but I'm not sure he hits hard enough at heavyweight to do that: some of those boys Valuev has already beat, would probably have exposed his chin by now, if it was at all vunerable.

I'd love to see Valuevs , Mum and Dad - just to see what kind of breeding and genetic unification it takes too create such a monster. :o

First time I've seen that, cheers. Valuev's like a bloody giant octopus, isn't he? He just grabs & leans. The ref was worse than a joke as well.

If I was Nobles I'd have twatted him in the nuts a lot sooner (& a lot harder) than he actually did.

I agree with Mr Payne.

Body shots will eventually take their toll at some point i'm sure.

Personally I can't wait until there face to face receiving their instructions.

Then watching watching Haye march up and down in his corner with his 'game' face on...then the camera pans to Valuev's corner which will then show just his knee's before the camera has to pan up into the sky to see his face.

I always gasp when you see Valuev coming into the ring. He makes the accompanying security staff look like the cast of Time Bandits.

Any news on when tickets will go on sale? Will Shirow(?) be doing a group booking like last time? Bit worried about booking flights as the arena is only 10,000 - it's not exactly a 60,000 football ground. :o

Are the tickets on sale for this yet? My wife is Russian and she's never been to a boxing match before so we're planning to go. I've told her she has to support Haye though!

Five things you might not know about Nikolai Valuev

1. Born in Leningrad in 1973, his height meant he was not surprisingly a top junior basketball player in his teens. He also won local medals at water polo

2. He says he eats three kilos of meat every day to maintain his size and strength

3. He might be a giant beast of a man, but he has a soft side. Wife Galya fell in love when he bombarded her with poems he'd written himself. They have a son and daughter

4. Outside the ring he has a budding acting career. He played the main role - as a boxer who'd lost his memory - in the film Stonehead that won a movie festival prize and has two more film roles lined up

5. He's involved in a lawsuit against a businessman who allegedly stole his name for a website, valuev.ru

Valuev has slipped a lot in the last 18 months....

He isnt the guy who had a few decent wins a few years ago.

He has had knee problems and has just aged quickly..... maybe something to do with the acromegaly

People with Acromegaly tend not to live very long, and suffer with various health problems, it's true.

Agreed Danny. Haye should win this. He made a good point last night at the Bunce Live show where he said that not only does he have to step back from a shot and then throw but he has to step in as well. This may prove tiring.

I don’t think he should play it like Holyfield did and try and get inside, he should just treat Valuev's chest as his head. C'mon Hayemaker!
