Isn't it time that the outdated method of a single person, who is also refereeing the bout, also scores the contest is changed to a 3 judges system.
What, exactly, are the arguments for keeping the current system, other than tradition?
OK, it might be a little more costly- 4 officials would be required at every event, which could be an issue for small hall stuff and dinner shows- so perhaps keep the system for non-title and non elimination fights.
But surely for title bouts (and anything of significance) the current system of relying on a single person- who also has another job to do too- is farcical.
Amateur bouts are scored by three judges- surely professionals should be too?
Need 3 judges scoring a fight

Re: Need 3 judges scoring a fight
What evidence is there that fights would be judged more fairly by three judges rather than by the referee?
Re: Need 3 judges scoring a fight
Generally, it allows for a bit more balance- one odd scorecard should be balanced by the other two.Horse wrote:What evidence is there that fights would be judged more fairly by three judges rather than by the referee?

Yeah, you said that once already. Live and let live. There isn't exactly much else to talk about at the moment, anyway.rf wrote:A little bit behind with this topic. been well covered over the last 3 or 4 weekswhicker wrote:Generally, it allows for a bit more balance- one odd scorecard should be balanced by the other two.Horse wrote:What evidence is there that fights would be judged more fairly by three judges rather than by the referee?
