'Modest' Scott Quigg talks about his Las Vegas experience...

Good fighter, Quigg. I have been impressed with him everytime i've seen him, be it in the flesh or on the internet. I also like the look of Rhys Roberts. Both good lads from Brian Hughes' camp.

I was impressed with him last Friday thats the only timed I'd seen him he has very good body punching and is composed look's one to watch but I would like to see him step up the level now

Quigg has come, looking back I think I may have been at his pro debut. Was there for Rhys', who just needs a little bit more devil to his work.

Hughes produces very good boxers and they are always quick to thank him for his efforts. The guy is still going strong

I was impressed when he beat, i think, Angelo Villani about 18 months ago. Having been floored, he got up, didn't panic, and finished the Italian a round later. Showed a lot of mettle there.

yeah scott quigg is looking good at the min,i watched him friday night his movement was excellent and the body shots he was ripping in well you could hear them all over the arena.very good prospect

It has to be said (well, not by Boxing News) that the opponent was a shockingly poor choice for Quigg's 15 fight.

His opponent had 4 wins- all against fighters who were yet to win a bout- and had been stopped in 5 of his 8 defeats.

Interviews with prospects are all well and good, but it's these need to be put in context. It's a shame they choose not to match him competativly.

To be fair, he was a last-minute replacement for Kakhaber Avetisian.

Even so, Kakhaber Avetisian looks very beatable too.

So I threw in 'solid' to say it was just that, a 'do what is expected win' over moderate, down-the-bill opposition, as most were on the night. I wanted to talk Scott up, introduce him and not run the job down, he'll be stepping it up in his next fights so there will be plenty of time to assess how his opponents stack up. I just wanted to introduce him in this, and keep the words down.

Yeah- I understand the nature of the article- fair points.

I've nothing against articles talking up prospects- however, I personnally prefere a bit more gritty/critical sytle of writing- but I do understand that wasn't the nature of the piece.
