I'm guessing this should suit Audley as it's like the amateur setup.
A few rounds and get as many point as possible. The only thing is there's no headgear and the others wanna take your head off. I know he's beatan Danny with a tko but I'm sure Willimas is going to try and get him back. Go Danny boy!

I'm quite excited too. Finish work at 3:30pm, I live 10 min walk from the Arena, tickets came weeks ago, going with a nice little group of pals. Should be cracking

:TU:

What's the coo with venue, in terms or is it 1st come 1st serve like York Hall was? I'll get there early if it is, like.

its says on the BBC web that Danny williams will put his title on the line?

Surely this cannot have been sanctioned by the BBBC for Prizefighter
Title fights are fought at 12 rounds and for it to change hands over 3 is an insult to hard working contenders.

it will make it intresting if it is but a bit false in my eyes

I think the BBC have made a mistake
can anyone clarify?

I'm tempted by the 12/1 odds on Boylesports for Audley to win all 3 of his fights on points.

theres so many factors in the balance....

which Danny is going to turn up?

which Audley....?

does Gammer have anything left for a tear up?

can hughes and perkins have a tear up.

remember the likes of Billy b,darren m and luke s put on great performances in the last 2 HW's ....the tournament works well with a range of different levels of experience and skill sets.

the cruiser tournament had an assortment of ex champs and veterans as well as up and comers ...and Ovil Mackenzie boxed superbly against all the odds to win !!!!!

im not sure Perkins and Hughes have anyway near the same tools...?

i know absolutly nothing about Barratt ..but hes going to seem like a lightweight in comparison ....However dont forget David Dolan's silky smooth skills to reach the first HW final against the mighty Rogan.

Do you mean the Excel?

If so, I agree. More like a warehouse then a venue for an event.

Excel isnt a great venue but it's great for Barry Hearn coz they can get more people through the door. The York Hall is great and it would be fantastic if it was at Bethnal Green but so be it.

Williams will definetley be stripped if he loses, I think a lot of people including the board want him to get stripped because he seems like a forgotten man of the HW divison now despite being British champion, he aint making a lot of noise.

I think Williams will win but it's going to be an absolutley cracking night and I know some people dont like the format, it's been great for British Boxing and gives fighters a tremendous opportunity of a hefty cash prize and a really good career move if things go well.

I picked Harrison - though nobody has me brimming with confidence about them.

I always get the Prizefighter wrong so it's Audley Harrison for me. I think he can keep his chin out of harms way for 3 rounds and bore his way to the loot.

If I could take Danny Williams seriously, I'd pick him, but you never know what the hell's going to happen with Mr Williams. :witzend:

in fairness to danny hes usually in exciting scraps whatever mood hes in...with the exception of audley, hes only really lost to top 20 fighters..and the borefests like audley, sprott3 and mcdermot1 & 2, and Skelton 2 were 50 / 50 in terms of blame.

i would also point out that i wished Danny had retired after the magnificent win over Gammer !

whatever ..hes a legend :box:

Oh come on, you'll forget if I'm wrong but you'll hail me a genius if he does.

That's the secret of forum predicting and opinions right there.
I still haven't forgotten you picked Ray Austin over Wlad Klitschko.

maybe he got confused with Steve Austen...its understandable....Ray was also ' a man barely alive too...'
Is that worse than Etienne UD10 Tyson?

That's not so outrageous. Tyson was 37, inactive, coming off a career-worst beating, seemed to be very distracted on fight week (even pulled out at one stage), and just had a fresh tattoo put on his face. With hindsight, Tyson was always going to splatter someone with that chin, but I remember the build-up to that one well and there was certainly some intrigue.

Williams did what I thought Etienne could do. I didn't realise just how chinny Etienne was.
