Any comments, criticisms or P4P lists are very welcome.
Re: British Top 30 P4P October 2009
how is Macklin only #10 and Bernard Dunne #8 after what's happened of late?
Why is Woods in the list isnt he done with Boxing now?

Re: British Top 30 P4P October 2009
if its like calzaghie woods will be on there for about 6 months
Re: British Top 30 P4P October 2009
i know it gets mentioned every month, but why is nathan cleverly in 19th place. I would have him in or around the top ten
Re: British Top 30 P4P October 2009
i agree and i think Paul McCloskey should be atleast be in the top 20Rixxy wrote:i know it gets mentioned every month, but why is nathan cleverly in 19th place. I would have him in or around the top ten

Re: British Top 30 P4P October 2009
I'd have O'Donnell in the top 30 also Booth higher than Enzo and Brook a little lower as he hasnt fought great fighters if he beats Jennings then he deserves a top 15 spot but until then I think he's too high
Good list though
Good list though
Re: British Top 30 P4P October 2009
Macklin rose 6 places and entered the top 10 after his win over Asikainen. I thought that was quite a generous reward for his win.iwz678 wrote:how is Macklin only #10 and Bernard Dunne #8 after what's happened of late?
Dunne fell 3 places after his loss to Kratingdaenggym. Considering that his opponent was a top 10 world ranked fighter, I thought that I shouldn't drop him too far down the list.
Woods's last fight was only about a month ago, so I still consider him an active fighter.iwz678 wrote:Why is Woods in the list isnt he done with Boxing now?

Re: British Top 30 P4P October 2009
if ever someone was going to retire, and mean it,its woods.
Re: British Top 30 P4P October 2009
I think a place in the top 10 is too high for Cleverly at the moment, as he has not faced a world or European class fighter yet.Rixxy wrote:i know it gets mentioned every month, but why is nathan cleverly in 19th place. I would have him in or around the top ten
Cleverly is fighting Fry this month, if he wins that then he will probably be in the top 15. If he is to enter the top 10 then he will probably have to win the European title or do something better.
Re: British Top 30 P4P October 2009
Woods has retired surely remove him!
Re: British Top 30 P4P October 2009
Paul McCloskey has only beaten Dean Harrison so far this year, which is only a decent win. McCloskey should perhaps be higher based on his fights from 2008, but because of his inactivity he probably shouldn't be in the top 20 at the moment.diggler wrote:i agree and i think Paul McCloskey should be atleast be in the top 20
If McCloskey beats M'baye in November then he will most likely enter then top 20.
Re: British Top 30 P4P October 2009
Brook dropped a place because Macklin overtook him following his win over against Asikainen.Tommy Gunn13 wrote:Why has Kell Brook dropped a place????
Re: British Top 30 P4P October 2009
how come nicky cook is still 11th
Re: British Top 30 P4P October 2009
Do not move Munroe and Dunne other than that the ratings are good but mc closkey is a definitely in the top 25 regardless of activity in 2009
Re: British Top 30 P4P October 2009
I didn't think that beating Glover was a good enough win for me to enter O'Donnell into the list. If he beats Kotey in December then I think he has a good chance of entering the list.alexpaterson wrote:I'd have O'Donnell in the top 30 also Booth higher than Enzo and Brook a little lower as he hasnt fought great fighters if he beats Jennings then he deserves a top 15 spot but until then I think he's too high

Booth has looked good recently, but his opposition has not been of the best quality. I wouldn't say that you are wrong to think Booth should be ahead of Maccarinelli, but Maccarinelli has been a World champion recently and I think that he would have been beating a P4P equivalent of Booth's opposition rather easily. However, Hunter is a step up in recent opposition level for Booth and if he wins that then he will climb a few places above Maccarinelli.
I don't think Brook has fought the best level of opposition either, but he has recently been beating decent fighters rather easily in his British title fights and I have rewarded him for that.
Re: British Top 30 P4P October 2009
Agreed. Hatton at no1 - 2 weight champion, lots of former and reigning champs on his record. 2 losses from p4p no1's.
I'd consider Haye above Froch on account of him winning 3 titles at cruiserweight.
That said, Pascal & Taylor are/still more regarded fighters than Mormeck & Enzo.
Perhaps tie them in 2nd place.
The rest i can see a case for or against, but i thought Rogan would be higher on account of the manner of his loss, plus the fact he did the business against Audley and Skelton whom are up their at the domestic top.
I cant figure out your obsession with Alex Arthur though... he aint done jack ever.

Yes, he probably means it. I will still wait a few months though.mickey1975 wrote:if ever someone was going to retire, and mean it,its woods.

- Top-o-the list looks almost a year out of date.Horse wrote:1. (1.) Ricky Hatton

Ricky retired and Haye to be going plop-plop on the canvas after Valuev chews him up and ejects him.
Froch is first rate, first class and rightly undefeated. Brits never get behind their best. The guy outboxed the undefeated future LH champ of the world down the stretch. Then he banged the seven sausages out of the fighter who sent Mr. Pops fleeing the middle division for the oldtimer's LH retirement division.
Finally, Fury the best heavy of the lot would've cleared out the prizefighter tourney if he could be bothered with such small potatoes and lists. The King is still King whether he be in swaddling cloth or fully arrayed in royal finery overseeing all from his throne, so don't you gents forget it.
Re: British Top 30 P4P October 2009
Nicky Cook was ranked 10th last month, so he has fallen one place this month.diggler wrote:how come nicky cook is still 11th
Cook was the WBO champion just over 6 months ago, so he is still ranked quite high up in the rankings because of that.
Re: British Top 30 P4P October 2009
I am not sure what you mean about not moving Munroe and Dunne. Do you think I should have moved Dunne down more places?brian13 wrote:Do not move Munroe and Dunne other than that the ratings are good but mc closkey is a definitely in the top 25 regardless of activity in 2009
If McCloskey beats M'baye then I will be able to rank him a lot higher than he is currently ranked.
Re: British Top 30 P4P October 2009
I think Froch's wins are better as well as being more recent. If Haye beats Valuev then he will most likely go above Froch.G0mez wrote:Agreed. Hatton at no1 - 2 weight champion, lots of former and reigning champs on his record. 2 losses from p4p no1's.

He did look poor against Sexton though, and I don't consider Sexton to be very good.G0mez wrote:The rest i can see a case for or against, but i thought Rogan would be higher on account of the manner of his loss, plus the fact he did the business against Audley and Skelton whom are up their at the domestic top.
Arthur has won the British, Commonwealth, European and WBO titles. He hasn't done much recently though, so he is likely to fall rather quickly down the list in the next few months.G0mez wrote:I cant figure out your obsession with Alex Arthur though... he aint done jack ever.
