v Rocky Muscas, in fairness I thought Floyd looked pretty sharp, not bad for a 44 year old ex super feather who spent years away from the gym, all the show was good too, well attended and enjoyed by all.
Joe Pyle used to put on good pro shows as well
This was on joey pyles mean machine promotion
Carlton Leech is involved in it aswell
These Semi pro shows up and down the country are becoming more and more popular - Mark Potter fought the other day - the place had well over a thousand people in there - and they went away happy as Mark won his fight in the first round!!! - no one wants to fight him so the opponents are getting paid bloody good rates to get in their with him.
The likes of Joe Pyle down south are putting on some fantastic shows and in the north I have now been to 3 bloody good shows where okay the standard of boxing if you wanted to be really critical was poor but the fights were great due to there being 2 lads desperate to win in front of their mates!!! - most of these shows are selling out as it gives the punters value for money!!!
I`ve not seen or heard anything of Floyd for many years. Class act. When he first went pro he could be a little heavy during sparring - but I guess thats what you would expect. I never heard anybody describe him as a gym bully though.
A real class act who should and could have achieved alot more.

i heard of you mate, you give our gary thornhill a good fight.
of all champions you fought,
of list below who was the most talented and who give you the toughest fight.
what did you think of the champions below, afterwards
Gary Thornhill.
Roy Rutherford
Graham Earl
Steve Murray
PJ Gallagher
Colin Lynes
Charles Shepherd
Jason Cook
Esham Pickering
Thornhill was strong but a bit predictable and flat footed, Rutherford had my number a bit, not a banger, but a stinging puncher, very quick and had great timing, couldn't get him to miss whatever I did! When I fought Earl it was stopped after about a minute after I slipped on water in the corner so I can't judge. Murray was wide open and I always thought he would struggle against the better fighters but was nevertheless the hardest puncher that I fought by a long way. PJ was a light hitter but very sharp and had great variety of shot. Shepard was just strong and fit, not a pucher at all, and was badly cut in my fight, I couldn't believe I was the one that was stopped as he never landed on me but he had already signed for the British title fight. I showed inexperience by sitting on the ropes waiting for the ref to stop the fight, which gave him an excuse to stop me. Cook had a bit of everything and IMO was the best I fought, I feel that despite winning Euro and IBO titles that he really underachieved. Pickering was a bit special too, despite giving away a load of weight to me just popped in and out landing flush and I couldn't get near him, good job he wasn't a puncher and was smaller than me! Steve Conway(l/middle IBO champ) was similar, I really chased after him without landing anything, just being caught by counters all night. I was suprised how well Scott Dixon did too, and I couldn't believe they put him down at 9st 6lbs, he was twice the size of me, however he really did show his metal later in his career so perhaps just had an off night
Lol i'm sure ive bored you all now!!
well done marc.
