They went out on the 1st vote with Tokyo. I am a bit surprised but the way things have been going internationally, I guess I'm not. I think Rio will get it since it has never been in South America. They are also getting the 2014 soccer world cup and they had the '07 Pan Am Games. I was there for the Pan Am's. It is a nice city with nice beaches though it will be winter for them during that time but it does not get cold. It is a very dangerous city and has a murder rate that is about 10 times any US city. The city was on lock down during the Pan Am's and all of the gangs in the Favellas (ghettos) were put on notice to behave themselves or else. The Pan Am's was run very well and I am sure they will do a good job with the Olympics.
