1st time i watched it and I loved it. Moved briskly and didnt have to wait too long between fights
Will be tuning in in fture. Or better still i'd be going. £25 for unreserved seating is nothing

Re: Prize fighter thoughts?
I think Coleman Barratt can go places as a Cruiser.
Re: Prize fighter thoughts?
Top night, really enjoyed it!
Re: Prize fighter thoughts?
Enjoyed it. Clearly the standard is not great but it is very entertaining and great crowd atmosphere.
Also I was glad Audley won. I'm not his biggest fan but I think he gets a ridiculously hard time by the British fans and it was good to see him produce some decent stuff, albeit against substandard opposition.

Re: Prize fighter thoughts?
I RECKON A COUPLE OF ROUTINE WINS THEN A BRITISH TITLE REMATCH VS ROGAN ( AFTER HE WINS TITLE VS SEXTON FOLLOWING WILLIAS PROBABLY GETTING STRIPPED) , HARRISON WILL IN TURN BE BEATEN SOUNDLY BY ROGAN , GAME OVER
Re: Prize fighter thoughts?
Was entertaining.
I got Sky Sports re-instated today, tonight was the straw that broke the camel's back.
Now Prizefighter has finished I have a choice of Super League/NFL/WWE/Weber Cup Ten Pin Bowling.
I think it's a wank and bed then and consider cancelling again tomorrow.

Re: Prize fighter thoughts?
Bit harsh to say that Williams is shot, he may be past his peak, but was very careless and got caught early on, and came back in the fight, i'm sure he would have won if it was at least a 6 rounder. Baker is actually a real good fighter, but badly lets himself down with his conditioning.
Harrison was a worthy winner and showed why he was such a good amateur, but I also think he showed his limitations in the pro game and I still think that domestic standard is his level. It's such a shame because he is so talented but just will not be able to handle concerted pressure at the standard above.

If he was getting outboxed how did he win all his fights? he was clearly on another level to those fighters especially since danny william got smashed up in the first fight.
I think Audleys due some credit he threw about ten pnches in the whole tournament and cleared 3 fighters clocks.
He's easily the best fighter on the british scene from those performances.
Re: Prize fighter thoughts?
. Not worth th efucking effort. People who actually get interested in this kind of SH*T, followed by the rubbish served up by the like of Belshaw, Harrison recently etc....

Had a really good night. was a shame barrett lost, he seemed like the best boxer out the lot until he got ko'd. He had alot of support there aswell. Glad harrison won though, carnt wait to hear what he comes out with next
Dont think the excel arena was as bad as people on here were making out, could do with being more compact but oh well.

Re: Prize fighter thoughts?
With so many fighters tied up for next few months it wont suprise me one bit to see Audley vs Williams mandated for the British title. Fury, Mcdermott, Rogan and Sexton are all tied up and at the mo would be the guys you would expect to fight for the title. In saying that the BBBC could go and add the Vacant British title to the Rogan vs Sexton fight.

Re: Prize fighter thoughts?
My first time watching Prizefighter, & exactly what I thought would happen happened, except the rest of the field -- accepting they were brave lads who "gave it a go" -- was even more mind-bogglingly shite than I thought it would have been. Hilarious that people are now hailing Big Aud as going anywhere after this -- not one of his victims had strung a dozen wins together FFS.
I think a lot of the Audley love we're going to see over the next week or so is from people smarting that they were so spectacularly wrong in the run-up, who now have to blow his trumpet to compensate.
Victory in this in no way means that Audley has anything like a future. Monte Barrett would have done him last night & I might have a cheeky fiver on Fury to psyche him out & outlast him.
All that needs to come to pass now for my prediction to come true is for Valuev to eat the WBA officials at his final medical.
Tuck in, Nikolai! Chow down!

He's an on-top, in-front fighter & I think three rounds is too short a time to get on top of the big lug & change his mind about whether or not he wants to fight -- particularly if you're carrying four extra stone (I'm looking at you Mr Williams!).
Victory here will set him up nicely to be knocked out in about two minutes by David Haye, when Haye's latest fight falls through (after Valuev eats the WBA officials at his final medical).
All hail Audley!

Williams is past it he should never of lost to Baker he wasnt up to much at all. Harrison was technically very good but as always looked scared and bad under pressure I was impressed with Hughes' KO over Perkins what a shot that was

Basically seemed to consist of a bunch of fat wobbling journeymen swinging away at each other in a determined fashion. Not good.

Re: Prize fighter thoughts?
Williams IS shot, his punch resistance has completely gone now as have his balance and timing. There's nothing left. Baker is not 'really good' he's out of shape and he throws wild crude haymakers. No offence to Baker, but Danny would have stopped him inside three rounds a few years ago.Coco wrote:Bit harsh to say that Williams is shot, he may be past his peak, but was very careless and got caught early on, and came back in the fight, i'm sure he would have won if it was at least a 6 rounder. Danny has been in decline ever since that terrific beating he received from Vitali, he's never been the same since. It's only his huge heart and will that have kept him in so many fighters since.

Yes, the excitement of Williams almost staging a come from behind win aside, this was absolute turd. Harrison is woeful, and he only prevailed because he was in there against fat novices.MightyWarrior wrote:Basically seemed to consist of a bunch of fat wobbling journeymen swinging away at each other in a determined fashion. - Alrighty then, Mr. Pieface Williams ain't shot, he's shot into little bits and jagged peices, mincemeat fixin's looking for a nice bed of cushy crust to land in.Coco wrote:Bit harsh to say that Williams is shot, he may be past his peak, but was very careless and got caught early on, and came back in the fight, i'm sure he would have won if it was at least a 6 rounder. Save for the potential of Fury, the British heavy division nothing but kremepuffs bellybucking for soft lad honours. Makes the American heavyweight scene look like a pit full of tigers in comparison.
Williams was lucky to make it out of the fight with the novice Airich, following that by soiling himself in the first McD fight that most on this forum seem to relate to. I reckon maybe Skelton and McD maybe have a few decent fights left, but that's it but for Fury.
And from these legendary battles, here arises Audley, King of the Kremepuffs. The collective breeze of your curtsies is sweeping the four corners of the globe as we speak.
Re: Prize fighter thoughts?
It was my first-time viewing it and have to admit it was a decent night's viewing. Harrison as clownish as he usually is looked fit and boxed at a decent level. The Irish lad gave the evening a bit of spark & him being so light on his toes and the southpaw stance sparked the mini-tournament into what was a successful night.
I'd watch again - deffo

Re: Prize fighter thoughts?
Danny is totally shot. He was rocked by the first punch Baker threw, and that was a jab. He's still got a great heart, but he gets knocked down so much - remember that fight in Spain?
But I just hope he retires before he gets hurt. He's going to be stripped of the British title and then there might not be anything out there for him.
Sat what you like about Audley, but when he puts it together he's such a clean puncher.

Re: Prize fighter thoughts?
In reality Danny has only put in two decent performances since Samil Sam... and Gammer showed how overated he was last night.
I would love to have seen Baker vs Harrison in the first round draw. Baker had quick hands, and had a bulk that I think he would have survived those one punches Harrison was looking for. Harrison's power isn't all that, just he faced 1 proven chinny fighter, and 2 small guys.
Honestly Baker would beat him in a 3 round format.
