I'm pissed off i got home from my youngest daughters 1st birthday party and pressed the tua/cameron fight at 7 o'clockish thinking i could watch the replay at least, when it wouldn't record for me and Tua and Cameron were walking to the ring i phoned Foxtel to find out why and they said only 1 show will be played today and regardless of how many fights i viewed i still have to pay......I told them to get f#cked and requested to speak to the manager all the while watching Tua throw incredibly slow... although fierce bombs on Shane Cameron who couldn't dodge a Mac truck(how is this guy considered world Class?) 3 phone calls and 2 hours later i got my money back.....Ha!

Well done to the Tuaman, but he definately needs some work on his speed, not he same fighter but still exciting.

Cameron use the floor to ceiling ball for F#ck sake! Domestic at best.

Well done to Ammann, a very solid victory over Tuasa, very interested to see what Ammann will do now after he has beaten every major cruiser in OZ.....However it's 1 all with Vea, and 1 all with Withers and wouldn't be disappointed if he wanted to stick around in Australia for the decider's before taking on the world.

Colin Wilson is the MAN, he has ended Fingers career, Kid coalminer for PM whoohoo.

What happened to Max Alexander that should have been a gimme, it's now 5 in a row.

Very surprised that Lo Porto lost but congrats to Heremia.

So what was the card like? I only got like 5 minutes of veiwing and i had to have the sound down while i was talking to Foxtel.

Cmon Eric in all fairness whats it gonna be?

1st you said Cameron was gonna win and now Hopoate punches just as good as the big boys (ala. McCall, Tua, Arreola...etc). LOL.

Rahman would be thinking "Tua (hmmm... I remember our 2 long fights), Meehan/Hopoate (oh love to fight these any of these 2 tommorow)", and thats exactly what Rahman would be thinking. So Hopoate???????

WHY NOT?? :bag: :box:

Bob mirovic did some sparring with tyson, he said he could swear hopoate hits harder than tyson, and he said he hits harder than danny williams.

He lost but he landed some great punches, i never seen anyone drop wilson like that, with one hook, leapai knocked him down but it was late in the fight and it was with multiple shots, he probably hasn't been hit like that since he fought Corrie Sanders.
Yeah but BigBob also said Hoppa was trying to break his arm in there fight when he clearly wasn't  .....you see where i'm going here ;;-)

Mate every now and then the media and people overhype........this is defiantly one of those times, Hoppa is nothing but a side show...Glass jawed, one dimensional and gass's very easy. He's not a boxer it's just that simple

He had to say something people were paying money all around the world for the fight  And I'm really not going to say he doesn't hit hard, because i think he does....however punching hard doesn't mean your a good boxer :-?

"And now, the end is near;
And so I face the final curtain."

So thats it for Hoppa. Tried a different tack by coming out slow and then towards the end of round 2, Colin started hitting Hoppa who showed little defence.

Round 3 saw Hoppa put Colin on the deck but he got back up and weather the short storm that Hoppa unleased. Gaining composure Colin jabbed away and ripped to Hoppa's tummy and then wacked one to the jaw and down Hoppa went like a bag of merde. Hoppa just beat the count and was then saved by the bell.

Round 4 saw a short spurt by Hoppa but Colin slowed down the charge with a number rips to the stomach, down came Hoppa's hands and then an assault to the head and Hoppa hit the dick (kiwi talk) and was given the count. Well done Colin, who promised and achived what Big Bob should of done but was incapable thereof.

Defend your title Hoppa, make some cash and then get out of the sport while you still have some brain cells. The hot-dog stand at Brookvale Oval beckons. No more excuses about training and hype of improved defence and new found speed.

The other Australians performed well:

Daniel Ammann threw far more punches than a pondering Tauasa and won quite convincingly. The commentators: a blathering "Turtle Bob" and a confused Jeffery Fenech called it a draw. The best fight of the night was the opening event between Steve Heremaia and Frank LoPorto. Frank went down twice in round 1 but fought back to be one point behind after 5. But a last round surge by Steve got hum over the line.

U started on the grog already mate ? Isn't it only 4 pm in wa?
:OhYes: :OhYes: :OhYes:

Im just thinking that Tua hasnt fought in years, And if Cameron has been doing his homework he can out box him quite easliy. Cameron has been stopped before but it was more through Fatigue than Getting caught. It would be great if Tua could turn back the clock but i dont think he will.

And If Wilson turns up in any sort of Decent shape he will be able to beat the one dimensional Hoppoate.
Am i the only guy who picked Wilson :OhYes: :OhYes: :OhYes: :OhYes: :OhYes:

beltane,

i don't see why you have to bash the guy for losing a fight. you make it sound like its personal or something.
hoppa has never came out and big noted himself, in fact he has ackowledged that he doesn't possess great skills as a boxer and is a mere novice trying to learn as much as he can.
i'm not bothered whether he wins or loses but he has certainly created much more interest on the local heavyweight scene.

his lack of experience was his downfall last night as he had the fight in the bag but didn't respect his opposition enough and paid the price. its a shame the david tuas fight wasn't first as tua showed exactly what to do once his opponent was in trouble. and then when he allowed wilson to regain his composure hoppa used no defence at all and the experienced wilson was clever enough to take advantage of it.

i think hoppa can win plenty more fights but he needs to be a bit more aware of what he is doing in the ring. did anyone hear what his corner said to him at the end of the round when he dropped wilson?

its just that people on here say that big bob and wilson should hang up the gloves but also bag hoppa, haumono etc. for not being good enough boxers. i feel just enjoy the current crop for what they are, a bunch of limited fighters who are simply just not world class.

Yeah it was. I feel for Cameron I know he was hurt from the first knockdown but he tried his best to make it a fight of the century but it really wasnt. A mismatch it was.

That Bruce McTavish has to be the worst referee ever.

What was he doing at the end of Round 1????

The commentator was ex boxer Jeff Fenech renown for his battles with Azumah Nelson. The reff did look lost at the end of round 1 maybe he got hit by the wind generated by Tua's punches.

The reff actually thought the bell had gone but there was still 10 seconds to go, mind you as Fenech pointed out Tua did hit Cameron while on the deck and to be fair maybe Cameron shouldve been allowed a minutes recovery time at the start of round 2. I know it wouldve thrown the crowd and viewers in to a frenzy and Tua's illegal punches were purely accidental but they were illegal and shouldve been disciplined with an allowance of recovery time for Cameron. I dont think Tua deserved a disqualification it would have been injustice if Tua was disqualified.
