Who will be watching ITV4's live undercard?

Post by whicker »

Just wondering, as doesn't exactly have a great appeal. Nationwide, how many people are likely to tune in to this before the main event (which looks dead good.)

I don't think ITV4 repeat shows on tv, but maybe on the internet? Or you could just tape it?

Tonights undercard is absolutely atrocious. I'd be very very pissed off if i'd bought a ticket for this.

With the ITV contract expiring Hennessy must have just thought fcuk 'em, i'm keeping everyone fresh for the Nottingham bill.

It looks like there isn't really much of an undercard. Bob Ajisafe is the only name I recognise, and he's not the most exciting of boxers.

He should have called himself 'Dick Towers'. Better marketing. :box:

Frankly, other than a tiny number of decicated fans and the boxers themselves, I don't know who would actually want to watch it. (I mean the undercard bit, not the main showdown)

yeah that's what I thought too, he probably thinks he doesn;t have to make the effort anymore.

on the subject of ITV4 repeating shows on the sunday...they generally do unless there's some all day live event on the channel that day...looks like there's some kind of car race events pretty much all day sunday so thats why they aren't repeating it.

I'd be interested in a reply from HSPress on this.

I look forward to the ITV shows (what is left of them, anyway,) and in the past they had done well with undercard and support bouts.

Honest mate the John Odonnel one a few weeks back was on on the Sunday morning
must have been nothing on at the time and they decided to show it.

I'd guess about 9.30 onwards, no later than 9;50.

I'd love to know the reasoning why ITV have withdrawn. It doesn't seem clear to me. Ratings have been good(ish), the deal was a long term. Henessey has delivered good bills.

There seemed lots of talk that ITV were going to make a u-turn and sign for the super six. Proved to be false, but I am not giving up hope yet that they will not make a u-turn on British boxing.

Seems really odd that Jim Rosenthal was saying "and we've got a great season of fights for you" after the last show... when everyone watching on ITV4 knows they've only really got one more fight!.

Not a great undercard but still, good domestic tear up to top the bill and Full Metal Jacket on afterwards.

No pub for me tonight. :D

LOL!

I like the way they big up Dai Davis as "Welsh Champion" and "Experienced" without mentioning his record!

Still, he is an area champ, won on a cut though.
