Froch vs Dirrell TV Coverage
Froch vs Dirrell TV Coverage
Just heard Rosenthal say it will be on ITV ppv, hows that gona work then? Im going the fight and was wondering about the tv coverage as everything has been so quiet around the tv coverage side of things.
Re: Froch vs Dirrell TV Coverage
Lots of threads on this... its going to be on a channell called Primetime on PPV.... think it is 12 for an advanced booking, 16 for on the day.
It will be on only Sky.
Why is Jim Rosenthal plugging it, I don't know... not complaining though.

Do ITV, Carlton of whoever it is have a stake in the Primetime channel? They must do I guess, if they're advertising it.
So I hear Carl's fight goes out around 2AM, for US TV coverage - wonder what Showtime are calling for the Abraham/Taylor fight in Germany, earlier? Later? Or have the Germans told them to get **^&$%£?

Re: Froch vs Dirrell TV Coverage
Only on SKy as in not available on cable? If so that seems a bit poo.
Re: Froch vs Dirrell TV Coverage
To be fair, ITV do mention Sky fights often.... even saying one time that the main event of an ITV fight will finish before a Sky fight will start..... basically telling viewers... miss the fights after the main event and watch sky!!!MightyWarrior wrote:Do ITV, Carlton of whoever it is have a stake in the Primetime channel? Its quite like setanta in that respect.... PR suicide really.
Re: Froch vs Dirrell TV Coverage
to much ppv in boxing if you dont have sky sports you couldnt see prize fighter or the mayweather fight, but khan was on ppv, froch v dirrell is on ppv and haye v valuev is on ppv. How much money do tv producers think we have to keep up with a sport that is now in danger of becoming a niche sport.
Re: Froch vs Dirrell TV Coverage
Gawd we should all be complaining when one of our few world class fighters is only available through ppv!!!... it is outrageous!. We pay for sky. We then pay extra for the sports channels. Then we are expected to pay extra again to see the few quality world title fights that eventually drip through to us. And these people are able to do this because people keep paying. If everyone could just stop themselves from shedding out their hard earned for a change then ppv would be dead in the water, but theres too many sheep in the farm it seems. No offence intended, just a rant from an old geezer who remembers when world title fights were free to veiw without shelling out half a weeks wages.

I am getting it in, back-to-back mega fights on one night, it will be great.
I hope Primetime TV hire the whole Setanta team for the production of the show. Kerr and Bunce, it would be great.

I've just looked on channel 480 and it says unavailable. Will it appear nearer the time?

I know, flash bastard coming on here spouting how much he earns. Give a thought for us paupers who have to save up for a year to buy a PPV and this man can get the money in half a week!Carbo wrote: You earn 24 quid a week?
Re: Froch vs Dirrell TV Coverage
£12, equivalent to around 4 pints of lager nowdays, I can live with that. Went to the Cinema on Staurday £14 for 2 of us to get in, then £8 for a bag of fornicating sweets... give me 2 boxing superfights and a bag of haribo anyday.Carbo wrote: You earn 24 quid a week?

Save some money and put some bloody credit on your phone.
Re: Froch vs Dirrell TV Coverage
Programme started at 8, so viewer defined 70mins and I'd be 5 mins before fight time.

Re: Froch vs Dirrell TV Coverage
It's a bit shit that once again Henessey have only organised coverage a fortnight before the fight. Seems a bit of rush to get a channel up and running, and to publicise it enough in only two weeks to make it worthwhile.
