2009-07-11: Cristobal Cruz vs. Jorge Solis II

The information on the fight in BoxRec partially disagrees with this bout summary on BS.com which matches what I saw when watching a video of the fight.

According to BoxRec, "Cruz lost 1 point in 3rd for rough tactics & 1 point in 5th for accidental head butt;" In fact, Cruz lost a total of two points in round three; first one point was deducted and then another. He did not lose a point in the fifth though.

Solis was deducted two points at once in round five and another two points at once in the seventh. I'm not sure whether "Solís lost 2 points each for intentional low blows in 5th & 7th rds." expresses that.

A partir del tercero, la riña desembocó en una espectáculo parecido a la lucha libre. El "Lacandón"
en su afán de desbordar a su enemigo, dos veces quedaron abrazados y Cruz no tuvo otro recurso que
azotar en el suelo a Jorge, lo que le valió que el réferi Joseph Cooper le descontara un punto, además
de que en el quinto fue penalizado con otro punto, porque con un cabezazo cortó la frente de su rival
arriba de la ceja izquierda. Solís ganaba 10-8 ese giro.
Llegó el cuarto, el "Lacandón" siguió embistiendo, lo que motivó que el pleito se suspendiera
momentáneamente para revisión médica y mientras el galeno hacía su trabajo Cruz se fue a pelear con
la esquina del "Coloradito", se dijeron de todo, mientras Cristóbal los invitaba a trepar al ensogado para
fajarse con ellos. Este round lo ganó el "Coloradito" a base de boxeo.
El show continuó en la quinta vuelta cuando a Solís le descontaron dos puntos por claro gancho abajo
del cinturón. En el sexto, Jorge pareció, por fin, imponer su boxeo a base de jabs, ganchos de derecha
y boxeo sobre piernas. Pero en el séptimo, Jorge volvió a golpear las zonas prohibidas del campeón y el
árbitro volvió a descontarle dos puntos al retador.

The comment has been corrected according to what the BS.com article says, which concurs with what I saw: "Cruz deducted one point in third round for a headbutt and another one for rough tactics; Solís deducted two points at a time for intentional low blows in each of rounds five and seven."
