I think
Taylor- His concentration and fitness isnt great and he is too tense and there is lots of fit lads in this tourney
Ward- He hasnt got great expierence but is a very good boxer with good skills I think he might win
Dirrell- Also doesnt have expierence at the top level but has fast hands and good boxing skills I dont think he'll win because he hasnt fought the same level of opponants as the others
Kessler- Very expierenced, strong and is powerful I fancy him to win it he is a very good boxer is textbook high guard and throws good snappy punches
Froch- Doesnt have good footwork and keeps his hands down and gets hit too much I think he'll get outboxed by Dirrell and beat by Kessler I cant see him winning
Abraham- Is powerful and strong but is little I think he'll struggle for a start against Taylor but I think he'll do well I dont think he'll win it because if people can use there reach against him he could be outboxed

I think either Kessler or Ward will win :TU:

I do not know much of Ward or Dirrell, but i have just spent the last half hour watching you tube clips of either guy and on the back of those clips i'll say i dont fancy either of them to win this tournament.

Kessler - my favourite to win
Froch - just to open and although i fancy him slightly against Dirrell, he could loose on points. Froch has a chance to do well in this series, but i do not fancy him strongly against any of the other 5 and if he fights Taylor again i think Taylor will beat him.
Abraham - could be the dark horse of the tournament, who knows how he will perform. I thought he was going to hide his career away in Germany, so the fact that he is stepping up a weight and going straight in at this level surprises me. Will need to start a bit faster though or could get himself outpointed.
Taylor - great fighter, best skill set in the tournament for me, but lacks stamina and this got him sparked against Froch and Pavlik. There are some big hitters in this tournament, and Abraham, Froch and Kessler all have solid chins. Taylor will likely get KO'd at some point, but if not, has a good chance of point wins here.
Dirrell - good skills but seems to fight negatively and i think he will get found out at this level
Ward - good skills, but will loose to Kessler. Good style for Froch to fight and would likely loose to him aswell.

I have always been on the "Froch" train since his professional debut - however - I have also stated the one fighter out there I wouldnt want to see him in with is Kessler and it seems after Dirrell that fight could happen - I think that is too soon for Froch and Kessler will school him.

Kessler for me is a massive favourite - what are the odds?

I actually think Taylor's major weakness is his mental strength rather than his stamina. I agree he's got the skill-set to win it on paper, but the nature of those two defeats must weigh heavy on him and cause a lot of self-doubt... and when you've got a relentless 'destroyer' like Abraham in front of you that's not great!
On paper it's easy to make a case for Taylor outboxing A.A, but it's the above that makes me lean towards a late stoppage for A.A.
Boringly, I also have to make Kessler favourite.

Andre Ward and Dirrell haven't really fought anyone as good as the others and Ward had to go to points with Miranda and I thnk he's been a little exposed now. Dirrell throws lots of punches but seems to struggle to knock people out by shear power and I think that will be his downfall.

Taylor has had too many hard fights and defeats recently and I think he will struggle but then again he could suprise and win it, if he keeps his concentration.

Abraham is interesting because he's beat some good boxers at his lower weight and if he don't struggle with his weight then he could have a good chance of winning.

Kessler has had the most amount of exerience and has got superb techical boxing skills but his lack of recent fights may prove to be a problem, deserves to be favourite though.

Froch has been one of my favourite British boxers over the last few years and I like his attitude, he's got an iron chin and can punch. If he manages to not get hit in the first couple of fights then I think he can win it.

I think they all will lose at least one fight and think it will be close, I think it can be between either Kessler, Abraham and Froch and I hope its Froch.

Looking forward to it though, can't wait

But the other thing he seems to have is a supreme confidence about himself. Don't get me wrong, I'm desperate for Froch to come out on top, but there's just something about Kessler and I think the Calzaghe fight will have improved him rather than damaged him, given the nature of the loss.

My head originally said Kessler!
I think Abraham could do well and i wouldn't write him off!

Dirrel could rise to the occasion!

Still not 100% decided im thinking Abraham :TU:

Froch to do the buisness for me! He can within a whisker or losing it all against Taylor so he should have learned from his mistakes! Carl can bang, is durable & has bottle. Those are very good attributes to have!

However, I think Abraham will surprise quite a few people, not least of all the other five guys in the tournament! All that about him not being as strong as the others because he's moving up is rubbish. He will be just as strong, if not stronger. The man just keeps coming & coming no matter what you throw at him! He should be a better fighter now he doesn't have to boil down so much to make weight.

I'm really looking forward to the tournament & I hope other promoters & tv companies have taken note of the tournament. Hopefully other weight divisions will do something similar to this!

Kessler for me, he's the dogs baleros. Gave Calzaghe by far his toughest fight imo and in cardiif in front of 60,000 (was it?) "home" fans. Like someone previously said the loss will have benefitted Kessler's learning curve.

Froch gets my vote.

Blind patriotism and the fact that Froch is the hardest bloke ever, makes the question a no brainer.

Agreed.
What are the chances of it finishing if somebody gets a bad cut or knocked out badly? Especially the younger guys who’s management may think it’s a step too far and best develop their guys another year or so.
What if somebody gets blatantly robbed? What will be the chances of them wanting to carry on.

The two young American guys could be exceptionally good, or exceptionally bad. They really are something of a surprise package as yet.
Taylor as some people have already stated - could be the dark horse of the competition. Like he showed against Froch, he certainly has the skills. And he may now know how best to use them.
Kessler I feel may just be too orthodox, and the others could work his style out easily. He isn’t as big as what I’d thought of him. So maybe he will not have the strength advantage I always assumed he’d have over most s-middles.
Abraham is a solid guy with solid skills. I think he will better deal with the others styles than they will deal with his. He is a short guy, and that may just work to his advantage.
Froch is the guy I want to win. But I just feel he is stretching his ability quite a bit to have got into world class. I don’t see him being able to stay there.

Like most I make Kessler the favourite, but I wouldn't count out anyone.

It will be interesting to see how Taylor fairs, in his scrap with Froch he seemed to learn one of two lessons from the first Pavlik fight, to not punch himself out when he has his opponent hurt. However he didn't learn the other lesson, which to me was hold or take a knee when you're seriously hurt or tired. Had he done this v Froch he probably would have made it to the end with a W. Arbaham sparking him late is a strong possibility, but Arthur doesn't start at a frenetic pace like Pavlik or Froch, so Taylor may have more gas left in the tank when it gets to later stages.

I think the first round of fights will give us a great idea of who will do well. I personally can't wait for this sh1t

Pretty much agree with this although i'm not as high on Abraham as a lot of people. Ward or Kessler will win it for me. It's possible that the loser of their fight could go on to win it. I wouldn't rule that out at all.

ward is talented. :OhYes:

still think he lacks in the power department and i doubt his punch resistance a bit.

he might well make the last 4 though.

i think dirrell is better and he'll go further. :bag:
