The guys a bit of a throwback in that he will fight anyone it seems.
But I swtich off when I read him saying he would have stopped Cotto had it been for this, that and the other.
Also, I don't believe it was politics that what beat him against Sarmba. It was the fact that he was up against a classier opponent who had extra gears to move into at crucial times and won fair and square.
To say they're all avoiding him is rubbish, but I could accept he may not be the first choice on everyones shopping list.

Butch,
I agree the comemnt about Cotto is a stretch but he was more than competitive throughout and he did push Mitchell very close.
He would be an ideal gatekeeper for Witter or Hatton and thats not to discredit Lovemore who could arguably start favourite against Junior and would push Ricky the whole fight.

Given what Cotto did to Pinto and likely to do to other world class fighters at that weight I was mightly impressed with N'dou's effort. I thought it was a very close fight (Cotto by 1 or 2) and it could have gone either way.DavidPayne wrote:Butch,

Rocky II has been on tele recently and my thoughts on Cotto vs N'Dou were similar to that of Apollo's on his first fight with Sly. "He won, but he DIDN'T BEAT HIM".
I wouldn't mind seeing a rematch, Cotto would probably win but N'dou would give him a fight and a few scares everytime they met. The guy deserves a few more big pay days, like Leijla he won't go away.

Good interview.
I still wouldn't mind seeing him in with Hatton, he's a better fighter than Stewart, that's for sure. I couldn't see Stewart lasting the distance with Cotto.
I agree with THEBUTCH, his defeat against Mitchell had nothing to do with politics, he was narrowly beaten by a better fighter. Which was what happened with the Cotto fight aswell, he just wasn't quite good enough to win. I like N'Dou though, he's a solid top ten fighter who always gives value for money.

Cotto did pick up a broken rib in that fight though. It emerged immediately following the fight, and in fact I and a few others at ringside something change in his demeanour around the 4th round. With hindsight it was clear that he was guarding a fractured rib and that hampered his performance.
N'dou reminds me of Tackie a lot, not a lot of variety in his work, but too tough to be treated with disdain by anyone in the division.

The only fight Lovemore has "pulled out" of recently is due to a payment dispute with promoters. What fight are you refering to? Or could you be talking about his cousin Philip N'Dou, who has retired for health reason?THEBUTCH wrote:Would this be the same Lovemore N'Dou who pulled out on the dangerous prospect from South Africa recently. Of course, Lovemore will allow himelf an excuse, but no one else is entitled to one it seems.

fair 'nuff
i guess they both had busted ribs then
from the interview that was linked at the top:
"I gave him his toughest fight yet, it was a great fight but I came in on 12 days notice for that. And then the rib injury. I’d have stopped him if not for the rib."

I can't spell the South Africans name, I thinks his first name is Isaac. He's rated extremely highly and Lovemore pulled out on him and the South Africans were not happy about it.
It just doesn't sit that well when you pretty much slate your competition about not having the bottle to face him, then he goes and does this.
