Who ate all the pies?

Post by stujones »

Evidently, according to the updated Boxrec ratings system, it is the British fighters.

Examples,

James Hare - Light Middleweight.

Gilbert Eastman - Super Middleweight.

Rocky Dean (carrier highest weight of 129 lbs) = Lightweight (130-135 lbs).

and countless others, I will make a comment on the designed thread in the general forum. However, I thought I'd make you guys aware of it aswell.

bollox, i dont think he looked that porky at all.

compare it to when he fought vilches and was commentating on the Pacman Marquez fight, you just look for a excuse to pan Hatotn for no reason, he didnt look fighting weight but you wouldnt expect that five weeks before a fight but he didnt look like Jimmy five bellies as he did for the vilches fight.

he looked pretty much as Id expect to be honest in regards to his weight which is about time I agree but dont just make crass comments uneducated for the sake of it.

I'm not making crass comments just for the sake of it J, I'm just stating my opinion that Hatton looked heavy. I agree I've seen him look even heavier but he still looked a bit bloated to me and there are plenty of fighters who do not let themselves get out of shape like that between fights. At the end of the day I'm entitled to my opinion and you should know by now I don't say things just to have a dig at someone... that is what I think and I stand by it!.... if you disagree fine thats your opinion but don't tell me my motives for saying things as I don't say things just for effect or to have a dig at someone. 8)

to be honest im sick and tired of people just having a dig for no reason, he isnt a bad lad is a good boxer and all people seem to do on here is ridicule him. Whther its deserved or not, Ive made my feelingfs known about this for some time.
So are you all gonna put threads saying SORRY WE WERE WRONG when he does fight for the title away from home?

Lirva Ill treat you comment with the contempt it deserves you hate hatton so ...guess we are all sqaure then.

I just thought Hatotn looked in pretty good nick for five weeks prior to a fight and the kebab shop comment was indeed crass, if I offended you by calling the comment undeducated well tough, cos it is, you dunno how much he weighs do you? So he looks better than he did for Vliches when he made the weight so this implies he will probably be in even better nick then for oliveira. (well that and the fact that the vilches fight had to be delayed for week for starters) he actually did that sky pundit job 4 weeks prior as I rember looking at him thinking he aint gonnna shift that many chins in 3 week *4 wqith the dealy that later transpired).
to me he looked reasonable for 5 wreeks to go. Certainly not worthy of defammatory remarks.

Well he was 10 stone last month (because he fought Stewart). I think he looked okay, if it was the first time I had seen Hatton on these Sunday Morning shows I would have been a tad concerned, but I'm starting to think he is the type of person who always looks "big" in suits.

He's a 25 year old lad, you simply cannot put a load of weight on in a month - even if he did no training and was in the pub every week.

When he was in the studio for Marquez vs Pacquiao he'd had a long break and looked alot more rounded than he did on Sunday.

Bearing in mind that Hatton generally boils down to make weight, it's no surprise if he looks beefier.

Look at him on weigh-in day compared to fight day, and he is noticably less cut than the day before, so a lot of that extra bulk is water. Hatton isn't a naturally lean person, you can see that just by looking at his body type. This means between fights he will look more out of shape than he is. I agree that on some occasions he has looked very out of shape though.

Hatton will always be big inbetween fights but he works with kerry kays 8 weeks prior to fighting and is always spot on the limit, since hatton has been working with kays his skin has looked alot better and has(i dont think) been cut, in my opinion all fighters should be within a stone or so of there fighting weight all the time, some people can put on 2 even 3 stone in between fights.

i dont think he looked that heavy though as Stu /Steve points out he is probably just starting training it coudl be a good sign perhaps he is leanring not to balloon too much.

When did he start working with Kays. He was cut quite badly in the Phillips fight. I've often heard it said that dehydrated fighters cut more easily.

I think not J. Hatton will never fight abroad and never face anyone oif real note... all this talk of him fighting Tysu is balls! just like his imminent showdone with witter that never happened! remember Hatton saying on sky about 18 months ago that a witter fight was going to happen!!!!.
He may be an ok lad but the truth is that he is making a lot of noise yet still fighting 30 plus lightweights! and you think the critcism of him is unfair!!!. Hatton has become a joke to many people look through the threads foir public opinion on Hatton... people are fed up seeing him fight oldmen and smaller weight fighters!.
Added to that the guy can't even stay in decent shape between fights!.... what a chump!

Agreed.

With the way Hatton has gone about his career and the type of person he's shown himself to be time and time again, it's a wonder that people can come onto a message board and not expect Hatton to be rightfully called a joke.

Marvellous post. Top class. :TU:

Yep, when you're dehydrated the layer of water next to your skin dries up, so there's less give and less flexibility, hence cutting and tearing is easier.

Hatton's also got that big old jaw and when he leans back in his chair with his collars tight he naturally looks like one of those lizards with the expanding necks. He's also got quite deep-set eyes and thick features which also give the impression of pudginess.

The guy's a pro boxer who's big for his weight - he's just not going to be piling on the lard if he's got any common sense (and I think he has).

To be fair Hatton looked just about as fit as he ever has last time against Stewart. We can question his desire to really test himself until the cows come home, but surely not the way he looks after himself inbetween contests.

After 37 fights I think the lad knows what he's doing.

WE KNOW WHAT YOU AND LIRVA THINK. every time anyone posts a bloody thread on anything it turns into a freakin hatton slating session.

my whole argument on this point was you were makingf stupid comments on an issue that 1. was wrong he is in decent shape and 2. had nothing to do with hatton in the first place.

As boring as you may find hattons career its totally surpassed in tedium terms by the amount of times Hatton gets an unwarrented critcism, that is mega boring and thats what Im taking issue with.

Criticise him if he deserves it by all means but cheap shots like the above unwarranted and untrue, well save em for your mates down the pub..

no Im not rattled at all mate, Im just taking issue with what is becoming increasingly boring, constant slagging of hatton for no good reason, never has a British fighter taken so much fornicating stick its gettIng ridiculous. You stated he4 looked porkey, everyone else seems to think he looks in good shape, you go figure, if anyone is stooping to childish playdround insults its you about hatton.

oh and for the record you couldnt rattle me if you tried.
