This is not correct.
Only the French lightweight title was at stake in those fights.
Prigent never held the EBU lightweight title, he was in fact the challenger when he fought Joergen Johansen for the belt that year.
Various issues of The Ring confirm it.
Johansen held the belt right up until he lost it to Duilio Loi in 1954.
