This wouldnt be a bad fight if it was on free TV. I don't mind paying for fights, I don't even mind paying for fights that won't be great, I shelled out $50 in the US for Mayweather-Marquez. But there has to be some unique selling point for me, either an interesting fight where either man can win or an ATG showing off his skills, and this has neither of those.

Why does boxing always rob us of the great fights?Coco wrote:JC never fought Freeman Barrboxingchat wrote:For whatever reason Salita is the mandatory, Khan has no choice but to fight him. He's not hand picked he's the #1 contender. After him the WBA have put another one straight after!
Khan will hammer Salita, far too quick. I just hope we don't get any distasteful build up regarding their respective religions.
Re: Khan v Salita confirmed
Salita is a Mario Veit type of mandatory, padded record well promoted, I expect Khan to win this one very quicky.
Re: Khan v Salita confirmed
He lost the Campos fight imo.
It's a shame that still today a fighter can become mandatory based upon his cultural background.

I may buy it if the under-card is stacked....this was the main reason I was so impressed with the Mayweather-Marquez, despite the main event being so one-sided. 3 highly competitive undercard fights at a high-level - that'll do me nicely. Doubt we'll get that though.Phenomenal-Nutrition wrote:This wouldnt be a bad fight if it was on free TV. Re: Khan v Salita confirmed
Salita has the minuscule chance that anyone who fights glass chin Khan has. However he is slow and for the most part is miles behind Khan in every department. I can envision a middle rounds stoppage here.
Would like to see Khan fight the likes of Holt, Maidana, Bradley. I actually think Holt would be the hardest fight for Khan out of those three. He can nearly match Khan in speed, has a reach advantage, solid boxing ability and packs a good punch. I think Khan would outpoint the hard punching but limited slugger Maidana in an ultra cautious showing, and Bradley would be a tossup. Khan would have the height on him but Bradley is just as fast, relentless, and he has a good skill set. Katsidis is just like Maidana except smaller and older, Khan would cut him up.

Doesn't make it anymore PPV worthy. I'm sure even Frank isn't happy about this, who the hell is going to buy it? I can't even see half the people on this site ordering it let alone your average bloke back from the pub.boxingchat wrote:For whatever reason Salita is the mandatory, Khan has no choice but to fight him. Unfortunately it seems PPV has to be a given with Khan, regardless of the dross he fights or the economic times we find ourselves in.
Although if the undercard features all of the Olympians in 4 rounders then I'll sign up for sure!!!!

Re: Khan v Salita confirmed
respect your opinion mate but Khan-Bradley would not be a toss up..Bradley would stop Khan..Holt would stop Khan very early..Maidana would stop Khan as well. In fact anyone with decent speed and a good hard shot would KO Khan...Khan to me looks as comfortable as Audley does when he is being attacked by volley's of shots...I really rate Tim Bradley, think he is a much better class of fighter than Khancrusader wrote:Salita has the minuscule chance that anyone who fights glass chin Khan has. To keep Khan, FW promised big wages, only PPV offers that scope. Just my uninformed view but I think FW said as much at the time.Lenny wrote:Doesn't make it anymore PPV worthy. Re: Khan v Salita confirmed
I know that David but the numbers will be awful for this PPV. Hence why I don't think Warren will be happy with this fight having to happen, he has to have PPV to pay Khan but the fight has zero intrigue to it
I for one will also be wary of the undercard, given we didn't get Kel Brook and Enzo last time out

Is this on Sky Box Office? If so put Pavlik v Williams on bill.
Re: Khan v Salita confirmed
Just got email from Thomas Cook. It's 5/12 at the Metro Arena.
Re: Khan v Salita confirmed
Kevin Mitchell v Ricky Burns is on the undercard apparently, according to one of Kevin's mates.

If this is true then this is far more exciting than the main event imo, a real 50-50 fight that I would love to see.chinny wrote:Kevin Mitchell v Ricky Burns is on the undercard apparently, according to one of Kevin's mates.
