No. I thought the commentators said Danny was getting stripped on the Prizefighter show, did they get it wrong?

The board havent decided weather he is getting stripped yet. Alot of people are saying he cant be stripped (these people dont know what they're talking about). The board can strip any fighter who enters a professional fight and looses as it discredits the belt. Sometimes they decide not to, sometimes they decide they want to, and sometimes they order a manditory defence. I think he will be stripped or ordered to fight Harrison, williams beating harrison would recredit the belt, and if harrison wins then the belt also gains credit (as he won the tournament).

The board can pretty much do what they want i dont know how people who follow british boxing have trouble comprehending this.

I'd love the board to order the Audley Vs Williams rubber match for the British title. There's still unsettled business between the 2 going by the prizefighter build up, so lets get it on cuz they don't get along!

Personally, I think Danny should be stripped. He looked awful, again. He looks unable to walk straight across the ring let alone hold a shot. Cuffing blows put him down. It seems on that basis absurd to put him in with Harrison.

If I were the board I would insist on stringent medical examinations before Danny was allowed to fight again, let alone defend his title. He looked really bad in there, as you said, even the most glancing of blows seemed capable of putting him down.

I really hope Danny retires, he's got nothing left to give, if the likes of Carl Baker are able to batter him around like that, then it's time to hang them up.

Your the type of person im refering to when i say, "dont know what they're talking about". Its based on the weight you fight at not the distance you fight over. If you loose a professional fight then the board can decide for the belt to become vacant again.

I can only assume Robert Smith has quoted out of context here, or misquoted. Either that or he doesnt know his own rules.

If any action was taken like that, Williams could take the Board to the cleaners.

This is probably moot though, as it looks like he is going to retire.

I was thinking the same thing when I read his quotes.

It seems I owe a few people on this thread, in particular kingfinn, an apology.

I have just taken a look at the little green book. The rules are open to more interpretation than I allowed for.

I don't think they should strip him if he decided to continue, (although it appears he may not), but I agree now they have the power to do so.
