After completly dominating the fight Viet wins TKO9

Wow, who would have expected that ending? I expected the exact opposite in fact. At least Brewer can't say he was robbed in Germany again. Hee simply took an asswhooping from the opening bell. Back to ESPN for Brewer, unless somehow he ends up getting another shot after a few lackluster wins.........like Omar Sheika. I didnt watch the bout, but sounds like Brewer should hangem up.

Was the Calzaghe KO of Viet a fluke or what? Props to Viet for stepping up when it counted.

Wow, I'm in shock - I would like to see this one. If Salem essentially beat Viet then I would still maintain that Viet is not remotely world class, because Salem certainly wasn't.

So I would assume the long career has caught up with Brewer, it must have.

Viet doing a better number on Brewer than Calzaghe, who would have thought it.

Textbook stuff from Veit, outboxed a lunging Brewer from the off: hurt him in the 1st, put him over in the 2nd ( almost finished him too ) and clattered right hands off him all night long. Paneful to watch after awhile.

Brewer is as brave as they come, he kept throwing himself in but never troubled Veit once. He should retire if he can, his legs looked stiff right from the off ( the right hands didn't help ) but the weird thing is he takes a punch better as the fight goes on - warms up almost.
The ref wanted to stop things around 6, but Charles kept throwing punches...

It was a relief when he went over the last time, and the ref made a good decision waving it off immediately.

Calzaghe v Veit 2? Hmmmmmm.......

How many times has there ever been a world title rematch, when the first fight ended conclusively, in one round?

Liston v Patterson is the only one I can think of.

this was the best peformance in super middle in this year. and a big surprise. brilliant training work with old Fritz. in this condition Veit shouldn´t fear anybody in the division, even Calzone.

sorry MW, they didn´t say that. it won´t be on ZDF. actually it seems that it won´t be shown on geman television. the fight is too expensive for Premiere PayPerView. nobody will pay 50 Euros in Germany.

It's a free channel James, at least in the UK it is. Can't believe no-one in Germany will get to see this? Seems bizzare. I reckon everyone of Vitali's fights has been shown in Germany so far..

only if Kohl would win the trial and the verdict would say that Vitalis contract would last longer than it will be shown on ZDF. even Wladimirs fight vs. Williamson wasn´t shown on ZDF. Premiere PPV wanted 25 Euros. too much for Germany. Even Hopkins vs DLTK was no PPV fight.

Good win for Veit, didnt expect that at all. Brewer has obviously seen better days, but didnt expect Veit to dominate like that. On the strength of that Veit definitely deserves another crack at Calzaghe - doubt he can beat him but he definitely deserves a shot.

i am not sure whether Calzone looked better vs. Brewer and Salem, but what i´ve seen from him i would say he is beatable if Veit holds the distance.

He certainly looked good against Veit. Maybe Veit has improved since then, not really a fighter I've followed so hard for me to say. I don't
think Calzaghe is at the top of his game right now. It's lucky he has a
pretty rock solid chin, otherwise he would have been in Shtuck against
Mitchell and Salem.

i am sure he has more confidence and is mentally stronger now.

Calzaghe isnt looking too good at the moment either.

certainly a better fight than other crap Warren could force upon us

Well done to Veit it is easy to dismiss fighters after a first round blowout but I think its often the case of being caught cold and I think this is the case for Veit against Calzaghe. He has improved and deserves a rematch which against this Calzaghe he has a chance of winning.

Funny though how we were all cussing Calzaghe for fighting a guy Veit beat, however, having just given Brewer a shoeing, it doesn't look so bad. Admittedly, Salem didn't look anything special against Calzaghe.

Is there enough call for Calzaghe v Veit II, even with this win though?

Salem didn't look anything special vs Calzaghe? That is the biggest understatement of the year - He looked like a club fighter, which is what he is.
