I noticed in their respective records that their contest is listed as an IBC 'world' title fight.
I have the fight on videotape and the IBC belt is not mentioned. The MC announces Lewis and Morrison only as opponents and not as champion and challenger, also a belt is not presented to Lewis when the fight is over.
In his autobiography, Lewis does not mention a title at stake when writing about the Morrison fight, but he talks about all the other belts that he won over the years.
Can somebody please clarify - thanks.
Lennox Lewis Vs Tommy Morrison IBC?
No takers
During his career Lennox Lewis held more 'World' heavyweight title belts than any other heavyweight champion. At various times the lineal champion was also presented with World title belts by the WBA, WBC, IBF, IBO and RING magazine. I just wondered if we could definitely add the IBC title to the list?

If both Lewis' and Morrison's records say this it's probably true.
However, the IBC title wasn't worth spit in 1995 and still isn't today, so who knows if they even cared about it being for a title or not?
What's more interesting was that Morrison was the favorite and rated above Lewis going into that fight.
Also, is Lewis' bio a good read?
