I'm not sure that I'm understanding this correctly are you are telling me Fernando Velardez who fought at the Jr. Lightweight limit 130 lbs in his last bout, but his opponent weighed 131 lbs. So now Velardez gets rated as a lightweight???

Oh now I'm starting to understand, you mean somone that obviously dosent know anytghing about boxing, reported the bout as a lightweight bout. But then a 130 lb Jr. Lightweight bout would be a lightweight bout that someone forgot to put the Jr. in place.In other words what probably happen is the boxing commison said it was a lightweight bout so it has to be a lightweight bout. It dosent matter that the fighter was a Jr. Lt fighting at the 130 lb limit. someone needs some oxygen to the brain.

The boxing commision does not make an official decisions as to what weight class a fighter should be posted in. That would require some common sence on your part. The commision is required by law to report the results of the fights. Like who won and lost and if a fighter is put on suspention. If you can't understand that this fighter should be in the Jr. lightweight division at best. Then I may as well be talking to the wall.

Hey Malcolm,
I understand that you are passionate about getting your point across, and I do think that you are 100% correct, but you might as well be talking to a wall (or your favourite pet) 'cause this guy is not "gonna get it". Several of us editors feel the same way.
My advise to you is to not pay any serious attention to these ratings. They are thankfully completely unofficial anyways. Instead enjoy the website for its true uniqueness which is the tremendous amount of fight results available at no cost for your enjoyment. This was (and still is) put together by a bunch of crazed and completely dedicated individuals from all-around the world just for the love of the sport.

When a Jr. Lightweight champion decides to fight a non title bout, he need only come in at 131 lbs and his title is not in jeopardy. Why? Because it is in the lightweight division. He remains the Jr. Lightweight champion, even should he lose. His title has no bearing on this fight. So, how can this particular non-title bout be considered in the Lightweight division and all others not. If you say it is in the Jr. Lightweight division then please explain why the title would not be in jeopardy.
