FAGAN and HYLAND, same card, different bouts
FAGAN and HYLAND, same card, different bouts
24th Oct Dublin: Oisin Fagan fights again this month at the National Stadium Dublin; however, even though he's asked for a rematch VS Eddie Hyland and Eddie's on this card too, I don't think they fight each other. Shame, as that was a CLASSIC encounter the first time. Wonder what's holding up the rematch- Anyone know? Even though Fagan is 'old' in boxing terms, he's still fitter than most of these 20-something year olds coming through and he's always in a good fight- very exciting and throws hundreds of punches. Tough as nails too. Looks like a good card- some newcomers on it- That Acosta kid from Cuba fights on it too. Shaping up nicely.

Looking forward to the Long-Fitzgerald rematch and also big John Waldron always gets stuck in.
Re: FAGAN and HYLAND, same card, different bouts
The July fight was a real battle but I thought Eddie outclassed Fagan and I'm sure another fight would turn out the same, Hyland will be looking towards European level in the next 2 years and fighting and beating Oisin again wont do much for him unless it was in a tune up fight, I think he needs to start fighting a few top 10 rated European boxers, other people may feel differently about it! I admire Fagan for the way he keeps himself in such good shape and is always willing to fight, I will always wonder how his career would have went if he had of got the decision against Paul Spadafora in 2007.
Im also looking forward to the card you mentioned, Acosta should be entertaining, good to see Willie Casey back in the ring too.

I'm looking forward to seeing Acosta in the flesh and it is a shame Garcia was pulled from the card. Acosta was originally due to be on the aborted Rogan bill this Friday and had been training at the Belfast Kronk gym in preparation.
Hyland never had a rematch with O'Hara so I doubt a Fagan rematch will come off unless the money is bigger. Hyland should be getting that crack at Gulyakevich by now, but that ship may have already sailed.

I've come to the following pessimistic conclusion - "Cubans, Schmubans!"steve689 wrote:I'm looking forward to seeing Acosta in the flesh and it is a shame Garcia was pulled from the card. After much initial excitement I now hear the Cuban boys names and I, rightly or wrong, think - "lazy, ungrateful, wasters"
