Have watched him train a few times this week and he really does look red hot. In truly ridiculous shape. We won't know what's left till fight night but am guessing it's plenty. He's been on the weight for weeks. Booth bang in trouble.

Booth inside the distance, just don't think Hunter has his heart in it anymore.
Re: Hunter primed for 2 Smooth
Well, if he's been on the weight for weeks, good for him. He doesn't know the weight, doesn't he? 8)TheGoods wrote:http://www.hartlepoolmail.co.uk/sport/H ... 5717156.jp

Will be a very good fight if he's in shape but I'd have to agree with Hagler, from an outsider's point of view.
Re: Hunter primed for 2 Smooth
hunter is like a corked wine, looks in good shape but looks deceive, he is past his best, molitar spanked the life out of him, and powder punching booth is going to wear him down in the last third of the fight.
Re: Hunter primed for 2 Smooth
hunter inside 11.
Molitor hit Hunter with 3 solid shots in the whole fight and it was enough cos he didn't see any of them coming.
not exactly spanking the life out of him or whatever phrase it was u used.

Goods, I remember we were discussing this on another topic a month or so ago and I said I would find you 2/1 or better if I couldTheGoods wrote:http://www.hartlepoolmail.co.uk/sport/H ... 5717156.jp

You are all entitled to your opinions. Some I respect more than others. But am on record now as saying Michael Hunter will be British champion this time next week.
When a true genius appears, you can know him by this sign: that all the dunces are in a confederacy against him.

A pal of mine at the Hartlepool Mail confirms your observations, Goods.TheGoods wrote:You are all entitled to your opinions. Some I respect more than others. But am on record now as saying Michael Hunter will be British champion this time next week.

can i ask, does anyone else think it may not be a good thing that hunter has been at the weight so long, allegedly?
a lot of the time when i have seen the, i have seen fighters dried out and drained by the time they get to the ring
i mean, if he is having to work to get down there, it strickes me as counter-productive to do the dehydration etc that is needed, for any longer than necessary?

This is going to be a very intresting fight it could go either way imo. If pushed for an answer I would go for a close UD for 2Smooth he's being more active and is on good form

Re: Hunter primed for 2 Smooth
It's simple really. Hunter is a one dimensional fighter and plays right into Booths hands. Easy work for booth. Hunter can also be hurt pretty easily. He'll be discouraged in no time.

too many couch experts getting in on this one. What, you think Booth is a fckin angel? All this Hunter one dimensional bollocks. Go ask the 3 or 4 lads he STOPPED on route to the Lonsdale belt, or the 3 or 4 h stopped winning and defending the Euro...suddenly he's a one dimensional slugger. Utter nonsense. What's Booth, Muhammad F. Ali??

Re: Hunter primed for 2 Smooth
If Hunter has anything left like he use to have then i Cant see Booth beating him, Hunter will be Just Too BIG and strong. Skill wise is with Booth but as mention you dont become British and Euro without Skill, Hunter too big too srong and Booth skills will not be enough to keep off..
Re: Hunter primed for 2 Smooth
jesus christ, this is a forum about opinion, anyone says that hunter has as much as a pimple on his arse then you are on their case. if someone thinks that hunter is a one dimensional slugger then so be it, its their opinion.NorthEastBoxingFan wrote:nope.opticald wrote:It's simple really. to me, its all about what hunter has left, personally i think he got a bullet in his fuel tank when molitar showed him the difference between contender and pretender. hunters fuel tank has been leaking ever since, he will be too ring rusty and too 'shot' to dent booths advances.
so, for me, its either booth on points or hunter 'giving up' in the last third of the fight.
but hey, its just my opinion !!......

'couch expert'

Re: Hunter primed for 2 Smooth
no offence buddy but that's not true, people can say what they like about who they like. The reason I am dismissing people writing off Hunter is cos I think they don't know what they're on about.rhino222 wrote:NorthEastBoxingFan wrote:nope.opticald wrote:It's simple really. I mean you yourself have just labelled him a pretender which I think is a very silly thing to say about a man who dominated, terrorised even, the best fighters Britain had to offer him. He then went on to become a very solid European level fighter, stopping his opponents in every defence and never lost his belt in the ring. The closest he came to losing, IMO, was when the Spaniard German Guartos came to Hartlepool and blitzed him for 3 solid rounds before gassing himself and Hunter stopped him shortly after that, but it was very hairy for ten minutes.
As for Molitor, well he was at the top of his game..he became a good world champ and made 2 or 3 successful defences before losing to the freakishly tall and powerful Panamanian....(i think Lopez and he are due to meet at some point in the future, what a fight that will be).
Molitor did not beat Hunter around, as I've alread said, he simply caught him flush with 2, maybe 3 shots, spread out over 2 rounds, none of which Mike saw coming , and that was that.
For what Michael Hunter has put into boxing it is nothing short of rude , some of he comments that are being made about him.
But that is just my opinion

Re: Hunter primed for 2 Smooth
Watching Michael Hunter fight in Hartlepool is one of the best boxing experiences I've ever had. I hope his usual hardcore fans are in Sunderland to get the atmosphere going. I think at his best Hunter can just out punch/ out work and just plain bully any domestic boxer in his weight class. I'm hearing he's back to his best for this fight. If so, those odds at bet fair et al sound pretty generous.
