Build the next HW Prizefighter

Who would you have in a fourth heavyweight Prizefighter, given that the last one was such a success?

Be realistic - not your dream eight, but a POSSIBLE line-up. Therefore no Hide (bigger ambitions), Chisora or Fury (they almost certainly wouldn't enter). Don;t want to see Williams in there.

2. Martin Rogan
3. Sam Sexton

(perhaps all three are looking at bigger things, but I think it would be cool to get all three winners back in there)

4. Michael Sprott

(a lot of people think he would have won the last one; let's give him another chance)

5. Matt Skelton

(why not? He has precious few opportunities left at his age)

6. Carl Baker

(scored the biggest-ever PF upset; let's see if he can do something again)

7. Chris Burton
8. Coleman Barrett

(finalists who did well; didn't include Dolan because he's now a cruiserweight)

Baker, Rogan, Barrett, Hughes, Sprott, Burton, Larry (I know he's said no - but like to see him give it a go) and Perkins (chance for redemption).

There is one big drawback with prizefighter and that it works with the heavyweights - the lighter the fighter - the more it
turns into an amateur boxing show which is not what its about.

I think we have exhausted the British heavyweight scene and anybody who fancies a go has already
had a go and fought each other I think - The next one should be 'Prizefighter - The Ashes'

There hasn't been any honest to goodness, proper international, heavyweight non title bouts for ages - we can use
the depth of our heavyweight division to bring over 'teams' of heavyweight boxers from different countries and now I have
had a look - you can disbandan 'team Europe' because there are enough quality heavyweights in Germany, Poland, Russia,
Finland, Denmark, Italy, Ukraine and then you have of course the Americans, Canadians, New Zealanders, South Koreans,
Japanese, Brazilians, South Africans, Puerto Ricans who have enough heavyweights to make a prizefighter tournament.

There are a lot of good fighters who deserve exposure and this would bring it to them far and wide:

He really wouldn't be a bad shout for an international prizefighter - he would be guaranteed to give it a go whoever he was in with.

I'm surprised other countries haven't cottoned on to the PF concept. Well, I know the US did have this kind of thing twice before, but the UK PF has been repeatedly successful. There's no copyright in ideas, so just call it something else and put it on in the US again. Or Oceania could have a really fun HW tourney.

The Australian one never came to pass. It was supposed to involve Sam Peter, Oliver McCall, O'Neil Bell, Jameel McCline and others - in other words, too good to be true! The second one you're thinking of took place in the US and was won by Maurice Harris. Records were not affected.

Off the top of my head, the one Harris won also had Gerald Nobles, Derrick Jefferson, David Vedder, Tim Witherspoon, Israel Garcia in it. Since it's not on their records, can't track down the results so easily.
