I want a decent/cheapish hotel near to the city centre for one night. I will catch the fight, kip and then watch the bodybuilding finals. Are there any of those Alan Partridge type places?

Any suggestions (apart from 'Look online you lazy ****!')?
i would say the Ibis but i think its probably full youve left it abit late for hotels terry most will be full you may have a bit of a comute but if you can get in the Ibis thats bets its only a 5-10 min walk to the arena

I've slept on the Station before, propped up in the Photobooth, and yes, I did close the curtain. Only my Cloughie is Santa hat saved me from perishing. We'd drawn 0-0 with a Hurlock encrusted Southampton and over-estimated how late the last train may run.

Fkk me, it was cold. It was late November and I had a Forest shirt on. I nearly cried for my mum I was so fkking cold. Of course, now, I'd just have found an all-nighter.

But as a penniless student....

Emerson and I stayed in one of those crappy comfort inns in the centre of Nottingham when we went to a Frotch fight. 10mins walk from the station and 5 mins from the venue. £50 per room was not bad for what we got.

Booked via laterooms.com I think.

theres a travel lodge type , chain one , might have even been travel lodge actually , at castle marina , which is about a 15 minutte walk away but straight up one road to the train station so im guessing youll know where you are from there . its very expensive 95% of the time if your right in the city , go just outside, its far better priced .. failing that drive up mansfield road , theres loads of little b & b types , erm maybe thats got something to do with its proximity to the red light district .

I'm staying at the days inn. was about £40 but had to book one of these advance non-refundable ones. That cost me when the Khan v Kotelnik fight was first called off but here its about 10 mins walk to the arena.

Dunno if you'd still get it at that cheap a price now though.

One of the top boutique hotels in the UK. About 70 quid with breakfast normally.

5 mins from venue.

30 secs from Living Room, Brass Monkey and Pitcher & Piano.

http://www.balmoralhotelnottingham.co.uk/

theres 11 of us staying so we got a good rate
my m8s use it all the time and say it is friendly and good value
its not bad there but its a good 30 minutte walk to the venue , do you really wanna walk that far half pissed at about 3 am , also youll walk through the meadows to get there , which is a notorious estate for gun and gang crime , the lads there will be expecting unsuspecting drunk non nottingham lads to be there to be robbed

edit: i suppose you could get a taxi though

I'm staying at The Riverside Travel Lodge, 3 of us in one family room haha should be fun but the room was only £60 so it's only £20 each. Plan being to drive there from manchester, park there, taxi into Nottingham, few beers then get in to the fight bout 10.30pm ish.

I'll probably do an all nighter given that the fight will be in the early hours. I will also be at the weigh in on Friday 16th in Market Square. If you any of you are planning to attend the weigh in then be there at 4.30pm for a 5pm start.
