McCloskey has great reflexes and can see a punch coming very early, I dont think Khan would hit him as easy as he could find Kotelnik. It would be an intriguing fight, hope it happens.

Will never happen unless its forced and McCoskey is pushede up the WBA rankings, McCloskey is with Matchroom so dont see W arren negotiating with them to make that fight and McCloskey will be to big a threat, he can beat Khan...W arren wont let him near Khan.

The fight has already been offered to McCloskey's camp by Warren to take place in Belfast if they both come through their upcoming fights.

People were moaning and screaming about Khan not deserving a title shot, yet not one person has brought up McCloskey's credentials!

How is he deserving of a shot?

Well he has atleast fought in the lt-welter division .. and been close to fighting for the european belt ... so a lot more than Khan did :TU:

He is fighting for the European and should he win it, which he should then surely a World Champion defending against a European Champion should be enough credentials.

I would like to see that fight happen but I would prefer to see Khan fight Maidana if he beats Salita that would be a real good test for him Maidana is tough

Should the winner of Sosnowski and Pianeta fight for the Heavyweight Title?
Of course not!
The European isn't enough to warrant a title shot unless it comes against a top ranked guy. M'Baye isn't top ranked thesedays.

For what it's worth, I didn't think Amir was worthy of his title shot, but the lack of questions being asked as to McCloskey's potential shot reeks of double standards.

But if he wins the european - then that traditionally puts you in most governing bodies top 10.

Khan took easy fights against smaller fighters at a lower weight for pretty worthless titles than what he got a world title shot at. McCloskey has been British champ .. something Khan never was, and hopefully he`ll be european champ by time he gets his shot. The facts simply don`t back up your reasoning.

What facts?

As I said, Khan didn't deserve his shot, he got some justified stick for it(even though by winning it he justified his chance), yet McCloskey is deemed worthy enough by some here because he has won a British Title and might be European Champ.
Being European Champ gets you in the top 10? First I have ever heard of it!

Who exactly has McCloskey beat?

I suspect Fwank sees this as a decent sell and a relatively easy fight for Amir.

Well as Buncey said the other night at Bunce live! Don King told him, you get what you negotiate in Boxing not what you deserve, and Warren done that for Khan with the WBA title and that's they way of the business.

So does Salita deserve a shot more than McCloskey would with British and European honors should he win and Salita is getting one?

I’d rate McCloskey as a more deserving fight for Khan’s title with the European title than Salitsa.

With the WBC, McCloskey is rated 15, as far as I know the WBC like the European title and often the holders enter the top 10. The WBC have Salitsa at 14, McCloskey at 15 yet the WBA have Salitsa as number 1 and McCloskey not ranked in the top 15. How does that work :)

It would be a sell out fight in Belfast for sure and marketable if McCloskey adds the European to the British title. The fight would sell well in England and certainly a sell out in Belfast, that’s Boxing.

I have no problem with Khan fighting McCloskey, but not until he beats Maidana first.
