Can't believe I am saying this... shame they cannot make this for some intercontinental title.... good fight. If it needs a title to be on TV, then get a title on it. Its worthy of being on TV.

Its a nightmare, how has this been put back on, the guy can't spar for 4 weeks which takes him upto the week of the fight so he ain't gonna spar at all in the build up, You would think the way both of them fight that heads will come together.

Hatton by stoppage might be the bet now

If you listen to the interview with Lovemore, he WILL be able to spar in 2 weeks time.

Old style comp no sound on this one, he did state when calling the fight off it would be 4 possibly 5 weeks until he could spar and with the greatest respect I will reserve judgement on him sparing until we actually see some of it, presumably we will do.

Why?

I hate bogus world titles as much as the next boxing fan and granted he will always be in the shadow of Ricky and associated with a lot of idiot fans but he is a decent UK-euro level boxer. I thought he boxed very well against Ben Tackie who is a very tough guy and I would be happy to see him in with Watson again, Jennings and Brook should he win his next fight.
I just find him boring to watch and think he has his brother's delusion of grandeur. He has also rode on Ricky's coat tails when he should have been trying to go the traditional route of Commonwealth/British/Euro. Rather he chose to fight no marks way down on Ricky's undercards. Matthew Hatton is English level (British level at a push) and is talking about 'world' titles. It's disrespectful to the fans and other boxers in my opinion.

So you'd go down the route of earning pennies fighitng in leisure centres accross the North West as appose to fighting for tens of thousands on your brothers undercard in the MGM grand in Vegas?

Also, he's won area titles, fought british title eliminators, and fought for the commonwealth title.

I understand people need to make a living but I'd rather make a good living doing things the right way, rather than a great living acheiving nothing. That's just my opinion. He should of tried to build up a fan base of his own rather than being 'Ricky's brother'. But at the end of the day he's not good enough either way to get beyond domestic level.

He's also ducked lots of fighters - his selective match-making has left a bad taste in the mouth for me when it's been coupled with some of his ridiculous statements about being world-class. He's fringe British level and that's it.

He has rode on Ricky's coatails, you're correct about that. But who can blame him for that? If he'd attempted to go the traditional route of British, Commonwealth, European, he'd have more than likely been beaten. Indeed he did get beat by Craig Watson for the commonwealth strap. Matt in all honesty is not good enough to have gone that way so he found an easier passage on the back of Rickys success. Not what you know but who. But its life, and it happens in all area's of life. I don't begrudge him a minor opportunity to call himself a world champ. In all probability he'll find the gulf in class far too big a leap, but far less deserving men have garnered far more prestigious opportunites.
