I just recieved an email from VirginMedia concerning the Super Six ....

Hi Paul,

Thanks for your e-mail to Virgin Media querying if the Super Six Boxing
Tournament will be available on our TV service.

We understand your need to watch this Boxing Tournament.

We review the on Demand contents that we provide to our TV customers to
ensure that we are meeting our customer's requirements. We are unable to
comment on specific Pay Per View (PPV) content.

We're always in negotiations aimed at giving our customers even more.
Just keep your eyes peeled to http://www.virginmedia.com to be the first to
know when it is available. We'll be happy to inform you once we get
updates on this.

Fingers crossed eh ???? :-? :-?

I've got Virgin Media as well and really hope the fights are on there. Given the dross we usually are forced to pay for on PPV, I think £13 is very good value for 2 fights of this importance. That said, it would have been even nicer if they could have just shown them on Sky Sports or something!

Both Andres in this tournament are absolute rubbish! At least Ward has beaten someone in Miranda that used to be a contender of sorts. Dirrell has no such qualifications.

Hennessey really is piss poor at promoting his fighters. So not only is this on PPV meaning most wont see it, it might also be anyone with Virgin/Freevie dont even have the option to buy it? Then he couldnt even get Froch a proper world title fight TV deal against Taylor? Say what you want about Mr Warren but I guarantee if the roles were reversed Froch would be on Sky/ITV or Sky PPV

I will be out from about 4pm that day, so I will have to Sky + the whole thing, but I have a feeling that Sky + will not work.

If Froch is on at 2am, that`s 3 am over here, so I might be back in time for that. Never like watching a fight absolutely smashed though, always end up falling asleep.

Might just forget the whole thing and download both fights the next morning.

true but the the thing is, if froch was a warren fighter, if have to have a different attitude to even go wth that promoter, meaning - like in some kind of alternate universe - he'd only want the easiest fights for the best money. meaning no bloody way would he be fighting the likes of pascal, taylor, then dirrell and - is this one next? - kessler. it just isn't an ideal world.

I'm not sure if thats true or not, Hamed fought some top fighters under Warren. Team Hatton was very cautious themselves, Warren reckoned they turned down all types of fights and they were cautious after Warren too. He did make the Tyszu fight and he did make the Lacy, KEssler and Hopkins fights for Calzaghe. HE also tried to make Harris/Mitchell fights for Hatton and Glen Johnson/Hopkins for Joe, don't think it was all his fight, these fights happening as they can be in his interest. Still hes given his a load of dross and conned us into believing hes selling something he isnt

this is what warren was saying about the mitchell fight falling thru in 2004.

with Warren arguing that it was impossible to stage a promotion featuring the biggest names without the financial input from American television.

According to Warren, Mitchell was demanding the biggest purse of his career, something approaching $1m (£550,000), to fight Hatton, and the sums behind putting together a successful promotion simply did not add up.

now he's saying hatton weren't interested.

What a dumb ass statement.

Ward dominated Miranda, a former world title challenger from bell to bell without taking a significant punch the whole fight, if you don't think that is a stellar performance, you're demented. Ward was also a standout amateur and gold medalist.

It may be too early in his career to be taking on the likes of Kessler, but Ward is an exceptional talent.

yes, this is rocky territory. sorting out whose fault it was, warren's or the fighter's. we could all probably argue about all this forever. i have no doubt that hatton (i can fight micky mouse in manchester and the fans will watch) and "sicknote" joe have operated with caution, extreme caution. on the other hand, as you say, warren has served up some real steaming plates of muck. and then we have his options. the haye-mac negotiations seemed to go on forever until haye was dead at the weight and had recognition as "the man". been hearing that warren wanted 4 fight options on murray to fight khan (but this is on ESB forum so it's hard to verify).

i think forch does believe in taking hard fights - tried to get inkin, did get pascal and taylor. all good amas, all good pro records, all ranked for WBC title. also i reckon he has some scorn for the warren way - hence his "Warren Boxing Organisation" comments on the old buncey show.

they are both good talents, the american andres. definitelythey are suspect - both have been down and hurt. both appear to be pretty much one handed.

vs inferior foes ward looks like the 2nd coming of roy jones. vs decent comp, he looks one handed, a bit short, and a bit cautious. he well beat miranda, but he was disappointed in his own showing. ward was mincing a lot in that fight, reminding me somewhat of ottke. he looked like ottke in the body of mundine. sort of.

to be fair to ward that was a very big step up he was taking. I agree he does look a bit small though.

Hi Guys, Newbie here......

I'm not sure if you are aware but there is a Live stream now available for people NOT subscribers to SKY. You can buy the stream from the Prime Time Live website, it will however cost you the same as the TV showing though, so the quality better be good!

When all this talk started about the fight only being available on SKY, i immediatley emailed Hennessy Sports to show my disgust at it not being available to other cable subscribers, i didn't expect a reply as it was a really strong email that i sent HOWEVER yesterday i got one , which said the following :

Good afternoon

Thank you for your email regarding the Super Six TV Coverage. Due to Primetime only launching on the 8th October they have been unable to launch on Virgin Media and the BT Vision platform due to time restraints and the channel launching ahead of schedule to allow the screening of the Froch v Dirrell title fight on the 17th October. I know this doesn’t help you now but Primetime are doing all they can to launch the PPV channel on Virgin Media and BT Vision as soon as possible. In the meantime this exciting event will be shown live on Sky channel 480 and via an internet stream on http://www.primetimelive.co.uk.

Hope this helps in answering your email

So i would hang on until probably Friday before booking it via the stream... Hope this helps guys

Terrible how Froch has such poor coverage in the UK, compared to someone like Calzaghe, who hadn't got the balls Froch has.
