"HAPPY COLUMBUS DAY, CARL FROCH.
YOU'RE ABOUT TO DISCOVER THAT YOU'RE
IN OVER YOUR HEAD WITH ME!"
- "The Matrix" Andre Dirrell
NOTTINGHAM, ENGLAND (Columbus Day 2009) -- Like Christopher Columbus, World Boxing Council (WBC) super middleweight champion CARL "The Cobra" FROCH is about to make a new discovery, courtesy undefeated No. 1 contender and American Dream "The Matrix" ANDRE DIRRELL. Froch and Dirrell battle for the world title This Saturday! October 17, live on SHOWTIME® from the Trent FM Arena in Nottingham, England, beginning at 8 p.m. ET/PT (delayed on the west coast). The battle of unbeatens -- the second half of a doubleheader on SHOWTIME® -- will be the first fight for Froch and Dirrell in the Super Six World Boxing Classic.
"Froch is going to discover on October 17 that his new world really is flat ... flat on his back," said Dirrell. "I'm going to expose him like a "Page 3" pinup in The Sun. I've had my best training camp ever and I'm ready to shiver Froch's timbers from stem to stern. This is step one in showing that I am the heir apparent to the throne Joe Calzaghe vacated as the king of the super middleweight division, something Froch has never been able to achieve. I'm going to slam Froch from both sides of the plate. I'm going to go Mickey Mantle on him! Remember this...Carl Froch can kiss my Yankee Doodle!"
Undefeated WBC super middleweight champion Carl Froch (25-0, 20 KOs), of Nottingham, England, and unbeaten, 2004 Olympic U.S. medalist Andre Dirrell (18-0, 13 KOs), of Flint, Mich., stage their 12-round showdown at Trent FM Arena in Nottingham, England, on Saturday, Oct. 17, live on SHOWTIME® (8 p.m. ET/PT, delayed on the west coast).

I bring myself back to the knockdown Dirrell suffered and the fact that his stamina is questionable. He undoubtedly has skills, but I have faith in Frochy. 500 quid on Frochy to do the business.

How many people actually have 500 quid to lose on betting? I mean, I don't earn bad wages, and I can't. Obviously, I live in super expensive Moscow, which is a big drain on my cash, but, really, GBP500 is a great deal of money.

I see Dirrell winning on points building up a lead early on using his fast hands and outboxing Froch and when Froch comes on strong in the latter rounds Dirrell will hold on to a points victory.

I feel like such a mug sat here at work in order to earn the sort of coin that Opticald earns so easily from his gambling. I feel like such a fool.

Seconded. Opticald isnt even the biggest gambler on this website forum, Iv played poker for 4 years now on the net and also sports bet a fair bit. Iv read him showing off that he has bet thousands on fighters with odds of 1.08 and just smiled. The most Iv bet on a game is 6,500 quid on Spurs to beat Slavia Prague away a few years back at 1.9,my biggest loss on a bet is 3k on Villareal to beat Athletic bilbao at 1.5 a few years back again. My biggest wins far exceed my biggest losses but Im certainly not way up from sports betting and I dont personally think you can be if you bet regularly. Poker on the other hand has thousands of pros and thankfully Iv done ok from it, all my sit and go results are logged on a website too so Iv always been able to keep a tab on how Im doing.
People who brag on an internet site continuously after every win tho need their head checked. Just be happy if your winning, dont go trying to put others down by saying 'oh go and do a hard days work while I put a bet on.'
