This guy is getting better all the time. I thought he was almost perfect last night.
His defence was superb, chin tucked in, hands up, head movement, upper body movement, it was all there. Bailey can't have landed more than three or four clean shots in the whole fight.
Offensively he was just as good, mixed it up, the accuracy was something to behold, and when he started to throw those combinations he looked like he was already as good as anyone out there.
Bailey just wasn't good enough to test Cotto in any way. He was brave alright, but it was clear he was a couple of leagues below Cotto. I wouldn't criticise him for retiring either, because it looked to me as if he was cut around both eyes. It would have been madness to fight against someone that good without being able to see clearly.
However, I still think that someone who constantly boxes him on the move, has a high work rate, and a pretty solid defence, will give him big problems. Trouble is, where is there someone like that?

Cotto impressed me to and can only echo Glittermonkeys comments.
I was also impressed again with Cottos composure he seems a thinking fighter who is always fully aware of what is going on in the ring.
One thought though, if it had been Hatton fighting Bailey last night some people would have moaned about him fighting a faded old fighter who recently fought at Light-Middleweight.

Plus we keep hearing 2002/2003/2004/2005 is going to be a big year for Hatton - I am afraid that young Cotto has stolen a march on him this year and probably will next year.
