Re: David Price
Good to see him back and 2 fights in such a short space of time is what he needs even if they are against knock over jobs.
After that he can start stepping the level up steadily.

Re: David Price
Question: Do Price's handlers know something that's beyond my comprehension? Price has had one pro fight, so obviously they're going to want to feed him an absolute knockover job. Right? But how on earth could they possibly know what this guy is capable of after one drawn fight? Like, I'm not saying that e's going to turn up and be the German Tyson, but after one fight you can hardly assess quality, skills, toughness, etc.
Have they ever even seen him?
Are the first fights in a prospect's career just blatantly fixed? I mean, unless there's an understanding that this guy just won't win, how can they put him in there?

Re: David Price
It does seem a very tame opponent especially considering he laid Dave Ingleby out, in a way he hasn't been before, on his debut fight.Carbo wrote:Question: Do Price's handlers know something that's beyond my comprehension? All I can think is he will have 3 or so really easy routine wins before stepping it up slowly.

Re: David Price
How good would this guy need to be to beat Price though Carbo?
Even on the evidence of one fight and in the presumed absence of Amateur pedigree, I have thought Price would need to be thrown in with quite a competent fella to lose even at this stage, then I'm sure this fight is a safe bet.

Someone's 0 has to go. I like Price I think he's a talented boxer who can go all the way if he tightens up his defence. Good to see him getting fights now
Re: David Price
im glad to see him back in action, im going the moore rhodes fight and so i cant to see price there, hopefully now, he will have regular action against challenging opponents.
Re: David Price
hope he looks good, his debut was a great KO of dingle
Re: David Price
david price is chinny..so this chap has a puncher's chance..apparently maloney said price will fight 10 times in the next year..he's gonna be very busy..same with george grovesDavidPayne wrote:How good would this guy need to be to beat Price though Carbo?

Re: David Price
Who has Price been knocked out by? Anyone who's not very good? I ask sincerely, as I don't follow the amateurs so much. I know Cammarelle knocked him out, but Cammarelle is a very good boxer and a big puncher. I'm just wondering if Price has been knocked out by guys with little power.gemmell wrote:david price is chinny..so this chap has a puncher's chance..apparently maloney said price will fight 10 times in the next year..he's gonna be very busy..same with george groves

The answer to that question is a simple NO.. Pricey has never been knocked clean out at all!! He's been hurt and stopped in the am's BUT I don't know many am's who've boxed at world class and ain't had a count or something like that.. Cammarelle has been stopped himself!! As have most super heavies!! The only one I thought that was indestructiable was Povetkin!! He could take anything that tank could..

Re: David Price
I not just stating this to wind people up
- however I honestly believe Tyson Fury will beat David Price when they eventually get it on - I honestly believe Fury has taken some undue stick and hopefully with the hype surrounding Fury and Price they will get it on in a reasonably big domestic clash in the not too distant future.
Re: David Price
Good to hear, Bomber. I think Price is very good, potentially our best heavyweight. The only worry is his chin. Apparently his small head spells doom, or something like that.Bomber 1 wrote:The answer to that question is a simple NO.. Pricey has never been knocked clean out at all!! Fury got outjabbed by a man 5inch smaller than him if he fights a boy bigger than him with a good jab and power like Price. I think Price would stop Fury and I hope im rightSpud wrote:I not just stating this to wind people up- however I honestly believe Tyson Fury will beat David Price when they eventually get it on - I honestly believe Fury has taken some undue stick and hopefully with the hype surrounding Fury and Price they will get it on in a reasonably big domestic clash in the not too distant future.

Re: David Price
Well lets see how he gets on in the next couple of weeks first, hopefully David has kept himself in shape whilst waiting to get a fight.
Who's David's trainer? and anyone know who he's been sparring, needs to get some quality sparring under his belt.
And from what i've seen Price hits alot harder than Fury, going on what i've seen from Am's by Price.
One other thing, anyone know if Cammarelle is going pro?

Re: David Price
Think Cammarelle is staying am.. something about him coming from a wealthy family and doesn't need the money that pro-boxing would bring.Old bones Ian wrote:Well lets see how he gets on in the next couple of weeks first, hopefully David has kept himself in shape whilst waiting to get a fight.
