Someone also mentioned the size difference, which I believe is significant. I'll take Hunter on points. But tough to say if he is past it or not as he's been so inactive of late. He could well be shot and Booth stops him, but Hunter at his best can box a bit as well as bring a furious pace. He won me a nice wedge the night he beat Pickering, although I was cacking myself after the first two rounds!

:o Re read my first post on this subject where I said " Im not discrediting Hunter, far from it. I just think that a time comes in a fighters career when that desire stops, the heart doesn't want it as much and the will is gone, not what it used to be and that I feel was Hunters main weapon and without his main weapon I dont see him beating Booth". Hunter is not getting derided or even trash talked. You cant seem to accept that others can and are intitled to have a different opinion to your biased views, and lets be honest... they are biased, you seem to jump on anything anyone says in suggestion that they dont believe Hunter will win this fight. People are not being hypocritical, deriding or trashing Hunter just beause they have a different opinion to you. To be honest I could not care who wins, I just got an opinion. Maybe you are Hunters No.1 fan and you are a bit sensitive to these post, but theres no harm ment....honestly!
Go and have a strong cup of coffee. I believe you quoted me and answered that very line YESTERDAY so why are you doing it again, did you forget?? Are you Hagler in disguise?
Hunter HAS been derided as a shot to poop bum, in not so many words, and what he did achieve has been heavily insulted by keyboard cowards.
And would you please stop calling me Hunter's number 1 f*cking fan, he has a lot of people in that queue before me. I am merely somebody that has followed hiscareer mainly due to having a mate box on virtually all of his Championship bills.
Are you a bit of a tool Des1? You're starting to sound like a bit of a tool...
 I think you will find that your belief is not correct but even if it was correct and I did requote you it would not be because I forgot....It would be because you seem to need to have to it drummed into you as you dont seem to accept that people have different opinions to yourself, you get all defensive. Why?
And an answer to your question, no I am not a tool  And I'll correct you..I dont KEEP calling you Hunter's No.1 fan, I said it once. And a question for you...Why do you class thoughs with a different opinion to yourself on here 'keyboard warriors'? How? In fact, the way you carry on I would say you are more like a teenage fan of Hunter's

Again, it's worth remembering Hunter was in front of his home fans and shook his head at his cornerman and QUIT in the fight.

When the going gets tough, he will quit again.

Oh yeah, think it broke him mentally! He had this great streak, and then it dawned on him he was out of his depth and he quit, then he quit permanantly!

What I was saying is that 'Too Smooth' hasnt got the tools to do that to him, he is an on top fighter an could find himself on top here!!

possibly the worst researched and most disgusting post on Boxrec I have ever read. And I should know, I've read a few.

Factually, you're obviously wrong, as Michael Hunter is still boxing. And at the time he walked away from the game Michael had lost his mother who he was clearly very close to, and struggled to be in the fighter's frame of mind. You ought to be ashamed of yourself for making out he quit boxing on the back of a loss to an exceptional, World Class opponent.

And Opticald.....if you don't think that both me, and I would say the majority of posters, don't realise that you're on a professional wind up, there's really not much can be done for you.

Desmondo....."keyboard cowards" I said, you said "warriors"... ....but seriously. You seem to be in possession of some intellect, as well as a reasoned argument, unlike, say, Opticald. But I'll say again, I have no issue with other people having opinions , whether they be different to mine or not...(Chr*st, you're making me sound like Spud now , which I resent  )....I am merely unhappy that Michael Hunter's game, and highly successful efforts in this most dangerous and financially unrewarding of sports are getting sh*t on from a height, by people who don't possess a fraction of the man's balls or work ethic.

OK, I have admitted that Steve Molitor was pure class. I watched him live against John Mackay and picked him as a future world champ.

Hunter quit that night, and I ask you this, if he had won that night and was a world champ, personal problems or no personal problems would he have quit?(and yes, of course he is fighting again, thats why we are discussing Hunter v Booth :o ) He felt it wasnt going to get any better and decided it was time to bow out, good luck to him, I wish more felt like that.

So OK, he has an on top personality, that aint calling him a 'biatch' or a 'pussy' or whatever name forum users use these days, thats a mental state. And I feel he can be on top against Booth and prove a lot of people wrong and win the title.

Hope that clears things up! :)

i hardly call a questionable points decision in hunters outdoor toilet a HELL of a beating, it was hunter who had the canvas imprinted (x2) on the seat of his arse, strange thing boxing, but i reckon esham came out of that night with more kudos than the 'beast from the north east' .. !!.. :TU:

Mate, Hunter quit against Molitor in front of his home fans. He looked to his corner and quit. Werent you giving Witter stick for quitting? At least Witter was on his stool and getting convinced by his cornerman to quit. (Still disgusting btw). Hunter quit in front of all his mates, all his school pals, all his community, all his fans. Then he retired from the sport. And you are saying they are not related? Get a clue mate.

Hunter will quit again when the going gets tough on Friday.

listen. I don't know if he quit. You don't know if he quit. Me and you weren't in the ring getting gubbed by Steve Molitor...never mind Boothy (who I'm a fan of, JB's one of my favourite boxers)...if any fcker deserves Too Smooth as a moniker it was Steve Molitor.

I don't know what it's like to get smacked off a World Class fighter. You don't either. Here's what I'm getting at: Would it be a crime, assuming this is what happened, for Hunter to have said, look, this lad's had me down twice in two rounds now and I didn't see any of the punches coming..I'm licked?.....For me, NO. Hunter has proved where his bollocks are on many occasion. He was downed by Molitor HE GOT UP!!...he didn't just wrap in mate, as you suggest...he got up, and got put down again.
He was outclassed for the first 2 rounds versus Esham Pickering, (ultimately, despite all his potential, a European level fighter)...Hunter dragged himself up off the canvas TWICE and mounted a strong comeback....Molitor was another kettle of fish altogether....another class of fighter...how many times must one drag oneself up off the deck before Internet Forum users don't call them bottlers......Molitor himself (after 2 or 3 World Title defences) got smashed around by the 6 foot tall Panamanian...eventually he didn't get up....couldn't or wouldn't, I don't know.....does that make Molitora bottler now for you...given that the Panamanian is now looking at a shot at Lopez who is on course to become the pound for pound Champ??

I don't know your motivations, but like I say, neither you nor I was in the ring that night. I choose to give Hunter the benefit of the doubt because the man has earned my respect and admiration......some people choose to ridicule them, from the anonymity of a keyboard and a fake name, as cowards, quitters etc.....I know what I'd rather be. Get down the Brierton gym, or go down Hartlepool beach at 6am and say it to his face I say.. :TU:

He came out with more kudos? At what level? He lost his titles in a thriller. The decision was fair and true. And poor old Esham was never the same. That's just a fact. Always liked Esham. Great skills and seems a personable lad. But that Hunter loss will haunt him to his grave. And you by the sounds of it.

Mick's winning this on Friday night. Booth won't keep him off. He's not big enough. Prepared to be dazzled once again by the Easington Road Tornado....

It certainly is. Brilliant atmosphere. The York Hall of the north but with slightly fewer people taking cocaine.

Silly to suggest Pickering took a beating against Hunter. He didn't. But it was remarkable the way Hunter came back from two knockdowns to nick it.

And you can talk about wider context as much as you like but Hunter quit against Molitor. I'm not making any kind of judgements against him at all. How could I? But he did.

I hope Booth wins this fight, he's one of the craftiest guys around and a real, real scrapper.

Hunter I never rated, I admire his work-rate but I never believed him to be anywhere near world-class.

However, that said, he's a big bugger for Boothy to tackle at this stage.

My heart is saying Boothy but my head is doubting the assumption.

Great scrap. Really looking forward to this.

Hagler you are fat, bloated and bitter that I get paid to give my views on boxing on a weekly basis. I don't sit in my pants at home pretending I had £2000 on Castillo to beat Hatton then trying to claim I bet the opposite while drinking cubra libres in Spain. Your credibility on this forum died a long, long time ago.

PS - I'll be in Sunderland on Friday so let me know in advance and I'll have a bit of on the cobbles action with you. Am willing to take 4/7 on myself, such is my utter and supreme confidence that I'll smash you to pieces. Then, hopefully, you will stop stalking me on the internet.
