Personally I'd rather have none than come over as a tit.

I reckon Gary Glitter disagrees with that statement.Adamj1987 wrote:no such thing as bad publicityWales wrote:I didnt see it, only the clip on skysports news, but it looked terrible... bad bad PR.

Comparing a convicted paedophile to a 7-foot man in a goblin's mask is hardly a fair or accurate comparison, is it?Shirow wrote:I reckon Gary Glitter disagrees with that statement.Adamj1987 wrote:no such thing as bad publicityWales wrote:I didnt see it, only the clip on skysports news, but it looked terrible... bad bad PR.

Re: Haye-Valuev presser!
As mentioned before the Presser was just poor and amateur
You need to spend money to make money and i doubt Valuev is making much from the Sky PPV so unless he was paid an appearance fee to come i doubt he ever had any intention of being there to sell the fight.
Having said that i can tell from the Media Coverage and the way the casual fan is talking about the fight that it's captured the public's imagination more than any fight involving a British fighter since Hatton vs Mayweather and i can see SKY PPV doing at least 250,000(£3.75 million) and maybe as much as 500,000(£7.5 million) which would be a great success.

Long rant for something so minor.Datsue wrote:RE: David's "puffy" face.
One thing that I am getting tired of on here is the constant wadgering about Haye's weight.
Remember, before the Barrett fight, someone posted the pic of David giving it the Venice Beach flex? Next thing you know every numpty in reach of a keyboard crawls out the woodwork & starts pratting on about how ineffective he's going to be with all that extra weight, how slow he's going to be, how it's going to effect his stamina. A sort of stupid-pool opened up on his weight, in which every fecker declared that he was going to weigh between sixteen & a half & seventeen & a half stone, with several "respected posters" talking from positions of high dudgeon that they could see he was overweight, had been hitting the gym too hard, & to reach such a muscle mass surely must be on steroids.
At the weigh-in for the Barrett fight, David weighed 15 stone 5 lbs. The same weight, near enough, that Muhammed Ali weighed thirty-five years ago.
Not one numpty came on here afterwards & went "Oh, well, that shows what I know dunnit?"
I know it sounds like I'm demanding public apologies, I'm actually not, I just think the boy has proved he knows what he's doing when it comes to training, he's not going to go mad with the weightlifting, & therefore we should all move discussion of this nature on to another non-topic.
That's why I am suggesting respectfully that in future, whenever someone wants to chew their fingernails over the subject of David's mass, we all start talking about something more important, relevant & likely to be a problem.
I humbly put forward that we replace all debates on the man's weight with moans/"advice" about David's hairstyle. Possibly one of the mods can get the Boxrec auto-correct function (the Allegedly Inserter) out again, & replace the words "Haye's too heavy" with "Is David's hair receding?"
I am sure Boxrec will be a much more enjoyable read after this has been implemented.

That press conference was an absolute embarrasment. David Haye is truly a pathetic weasel.

Amateur world silver medalist, former undisputed cruiserweight champion and no chaleenging the a 7ft Heavyweight world champion. Clearly a pathetic weasel.Nelson Gateau wrote:That press conference was an absolute embarrasment. David Haye is truly a pathetic weasel.
Re: Haye-Valuev presser!
Anyone know the start time for Haye-Valuev? Are they catering for USTV and putting it out at stupid O'clock or will we get a reasonable 10pm(ish) start time.
The David Haye PR machine is in full flow, but the insults are becoming more and more basic as time goes on.... he's ugly.....he's hairy.......he smells

I think it`s plain for everyone to see that Valuev defo has pubes, in fact i think his pubes have got pubes.
But i heard his knob is only 3 inches long and 3mm wide.

Re: Haye-Valuev presser!
What does his fighting pedigree have to do with whether or not he is a pathetic weasel? Plenty of pathetic weasels know how to fight. Oh, and he chickened out of fighting the REAL heavyweight champs and chose the one that just got outboxed by old man Holyfield. Oh, and did you see the press conference where Vitali stole his hat and made him look like a pathetic weasel? It's on youtube. It's great.dbf wrote:Amateur world silver medalist, former undisputed cruiserweight champion and no chaleenging the a 7ft Heavyweight world champion. Re: Haye-Valuev presser!
Well done Haye. Of course the presser was a bit of a joke but it has got people talking and not just the hardcore boxing fans. Haye is a fantastic publicist plus that bit at the end when he knocked Valuevs head off was pretty good
Bring on the 7th.
