I don't think Hunter will come out "blasting away 50 to the dozen". He can box another way. He was very cautious and disciplined against Molitor for 4 rounds, just wasn't in the same class. If anything you could say it was his undoing, but I think he wasn't going to win that night whatever he did.
I don't envisage a contender for fight of the year either, not with that ring rust to shed. Bit surprised by Mccrory there.

even when you're on it at 4am :oo

why is it stupid....have you actually seen this fight....?

actually 5 rounds, right til he got taken out Hunter was doing a decent job of keeping it tight while trying to apply pressure. Molitor was just better. How the fck is that stupid????? What a stupid comment!

nebf is totally right there micky tried to box him and was nowhere near his league if he tried to swarm him he would have had a far better chance(even though that would have been very slim aswell) so why is it such a stupid thing to say? booth is nowhere near the class of molitor and micky has lost 1 out of 31 fights some going that even if it is at a weak weight. but at least it was at s/bantam booth has mainly fought at fly i can see this fight going either way but it is a nice price for micky i think(which probably means booth is gonna box his head off going by my tipping)

Thank you...I knew I hadn't imagined it!!......u start to question your sanity in this place at times....

I guess you were also sucked in by Jim Watts commentary, he was been "very cautious and disciplined" due to the fact Molitor didn't let him do a thing in the fight.

Jim Watt?????...what the frick??........I can't even remember who commentated on it due to being at the show.

I think Billy was on the money. If I was you I'd wait for the whole sorry episode to just go away...you know....like with Bernard Dunne that time after he didn't get that...well you know the score.

Fella, on this occasion you're completely wrong. As Billy and NEBF have already highlighted, Hunter definitely fought a different fight to his normal one and while it wasn't a successful tactic, it was undoubtedly a conscious decision rather than forced on him as a result of Molitor's decisions.

I have my take on how I seen the fight and the impression I got was that Molitor nullified Hunter and then clinically took him out.

NEBF, To be honest even though Dunne won that fight he did take a bit of a pasting, I lost money on it but knew Bernard was there for the taking and won it back plus plenty more on Poonsawat fight! The same will happen tomorrow when I lump on Booth who will send your man Hunter into retirement and if by some miracle Hunter does win I will never post on this forum again.

Don't know if anybody has connections close to the fighters here but I noticed that there was strong support in the betting market for Hunter yesterday that seemed to come just after the press conference.

Hunter was backed outright, points and indeed to win by knockout, i found this very interesting so I rang a friend of mine who lives in Nottingham, and knows the game up there, he says there were rumours last week that Booth was not well with a heavy cold and was not completing his work and that he was a bit overweight at that time.

Did anybody go to the press conference and see what he looked like, or indeed is anybody going to the weigh in?

I did fancy Booth to be honest to win on points or even late ko but if he is not on his game and has indeed been ill then Hunter must have a great chance of winning this fight, one thing you cannot be against Hunter is less than 100 per cent because he won't leave you alone.

Not scare mongering its been told to me in good faith so just wondered if anyone knew anything?

right, i'll lay this out for you:

1)...Hunter didn't do anything that Molitor needed to "nullify"...Hunter was boxing a real cute (pre-planned) fight cos he knew, like the rest of the world but you it seems, that Molitor is up with the slickest of the slick. It was the sensible choice...it didn't work. If he'd try to maraud him, Molitor would have toyed with, what to him, would have resembled a bit of a crude swinger.

2) last night you said I made the stupidest post you'd ever seen (post which pro BB said was "completely right" btw). What you've just said about the Dunne fight IS utterly ridiculous....he won, "but he still took a pasting"...well why didn't you march straight down the Bookies and just say, look, I said that man would take a pasting and he did, now pay up my man!!

3) we both know that you won't leave this forum if Michael Hunter wins this fight, so don't threaten it.

4) and this ain't about you but I think GLOBALBOX - no offence GB - could be trying to swing the betting on this one so he gets better value on Booth...fools rush in......(don't buy it H')

No offence taken only what I had been told bout Booth, hopefully someone will confirm or deny he missed the press conference as my mate said, strange though as he has come in a 1lb under so perhaps its not as it seems

No bet for me on this one NEBF have to see an angle for me to bet as I normally go in quite heavy if I get an angle, there is not one for this fight, Booth the better natural boxer but can he cope with Hunter's pace and pressure especially if there have been any problems in the build up.

Still fancy Booth but its not betting material.

the nice thing with this thread is it proves that no one gets upset with anyone else about silly things, everyone remains level headed and insults are kept to a minimum. all very grown up.

Booth wins by TKO round 10..... :box:

I saw Booth about 4 weeks ago in Toys R Us actually.

Anyways, whilst Hunter was doing good business on Friday fight night a few years ago, i always thought he was very lucky to have beaten Esham Pickering in 2005.

Esham had him down in the two opening rounds and I think did enough overall to wrap the win up.

Booth is a good allrounder with decent domestic boxing ability.

Furthermore he never been stopped in a loss and Hunter is not some ferocious banger.

I'm picking Booth in this one, to take it on a points win.

116-113

:TU:

PS- good to see Hunter back regardless

Hunter is, (or was at least) ferocious. He may not have displayed single punch take out power, but his shots were concussive enough. He hit very hard and very often til his opponents (at British level - even European) were either stopped or could take no more.

Those earlier Championship wins on the British scene were brilliant, but often brutal scraps.

cheers for taking that the right way Global, I am not too familiar with you, so to be fair, any rubbishing of either fighters chances could be a clever ploy to get some money moving and get better odds...specially big punts.

I agree with the angle method you use too....I was very confident on Maccy D the other week by TKO or points. My bets reflected this. To be honest I'm not that bitter because I was proved right!!!! The farce was no fault of my own, and I could afford to lose what I lost.

I will leave this one alone. I am a bit of a fan of Boothy, and also Hunter, while I am not pretending to be a pal of his, he has been a gent on the odd occasion I've met him. So considering the great nights' of boxing Mick's already given me, who am I to try and make a few bob off his back while he's getting punched in the face. No thanks!

May both men have a great fight and the best man win :box:

Was at the weigh-in. Both looked in decent nick but Booth was wrapped up (big coat, hat etc) so wonder whether there are anything in the Booth cold rumours? Hunter dwarfed him during head-to-head. 4 inches taller minimum. Fannan reckons he gonna add about 10lbs between now and fight night. This is normal for Mick. He's done the weight beautifully for this and has the old fire in his eyes again. Am MASSIVELY biased of course as I love the little c*nt and am Godfather to one of his kids but I am convinced he beats Booth here. Jason doesn't hit hard enough to worry Mick. I don't think he is physically strong enough to keep him off either. I could be wrong (Lord knows I have been in the past!!!!) but this could actually be very one-sided.

Hagler. I hope you are true to your word and retire from posting if Hunter wins. You are a bitter, horrible man without a good word to say about anyone. Let us hope you walk away into the sunset and live blissfully in that BIG PLAYER'S MANSION of yours. In, er, Consett...

that certainly puts a spin on things. Surprised Hunter that much taller but I don't know why cos he was always tall at the weight.

Funny how some people can let someone they have never met get under their skin so much :o

I am far from a bitter & horrible person in REAL LIFE and even on this forum I have gone out of my way to help people looking for fights on disc posting them out for no charge, right I'm now off to betting zone to see who you've cursed this weekend.

how disrespectful.

I don't say that to offend you, just to let you know that comments like that send your credibility p*ssing out the window..

didn't he climb of his bum not once but TWICE against your boy Esham and do the job?? YES

Did he get bombed to sh*t by German Guartos for 3 rounds before stopping that bull?? YES

Didn't he climb off the deck versus Molitor before the count out?? YES

Posts like you just made separate the real boxing fans from the chaff. Cue 50 dumb*ss comments about me licking Hunter's ringpiece......
