Does anyone think that Hatton will really fights Kosta

Post by josh fg »

The has been talk from warren about the fight being agreed but we have heard this befor dose anyonte think that it will happen this time or is it all Hype again?

Personaly I would be supprised to see Hatton take such a risk furthermore his lack of top level opponents will harm him in this fight.

its like the boy who cried wolf isnt it.

its been heard so many times its hard to believe it.

It is however the first time Ive heard Hatton say ok, Ill go to the states whatever, I want to fight a big name.

Perhaps he is forcing Frank's hand a little who knows.

I hope it does if only to shut up some of the constant bleaters and cheap shot merchants on here. I get as frustrated as many over all this but I find some of the comments totally unnecessary.

but ill get over it

At the end of the day the only person to believe is Kostya Tszyu. He can pretty much choose whatever opponent he wants.

I don't think that Tszyu believes that Ricky has done enough to earn a shot at him yet. If Tszyu is smart he should not fight Ricky which would force him to take his WBO shot against Cotto. Then Kostya should think about fighting the winner. The IBF mandatory means nothing to Kostya, he is recognised as the undisputed by all the bodies and the press, he don't need to fight Ricky.

Well both SKY Sports and the Daily Sport are today saying it has been agreed for the Springtime, Sir Frank came on and said it had been sorted out and apparently Vlad Wharton has said it is on as well. Still i will not believe it until i see the cleaners moving in to sweep out the MEN afterwards

Some betting sites have the fight arranged for the 30th June which is strange

I don't think the fight will happen, but then again Tszyu will want to fight April/May and what are his options for possible opponents?

No one will believe it until both men are standing in the ring and the first bell rings. I seriously doubt it will happen. They will probably say 'we'll make the fight for later in 2005' and in spring Hatton will just fight yet another Oliveira type fighter. All in all, most of the population would possibly have a heart attack if Hatton fought anyone half good because of the shock.

Some possible opponents have been mentioned as being other Showtime boxers. The winner of Welterweights Spinks Vs Judah or the lightweight Castillo.

I think he would go up the weight to fight Spinks, but a Judah rematch wouldn't appeal.

Well, Sky are Warren's backers, they'll hardly say there no chance of this fight. The Sport is a paper that ran with the story "Jesus lives in my shed", and Frank has a bit of a history for saying these things. Not good.

All in all, the only thing I'll believe is a tv interview with Tszyu saying the deal is done. Will we ever see that? I'm not sure, in fact the only thing I'll believe is a tv interview with Tszyu, saying that he'll do a tv interview, where he'll announce that the Hatton fight is on. Will we ever see that? I'm not so sure, in fact..............well, you get the idea.

To be honest Im past caring whether hatton fights Tszyu. hattons career is a bore designed to extract as much money as possible from as many gullible mancunians as is possible, and he does it very well.

I'll belive he's genuinelly serious about fighting Tszyu when I see them together in a ring. Until then uncle frank can bang on as much bullshit as he likes about it happening. If he's serious then it will happen. he'll break the bank for a Tszyu fight and if he thinks hatton is as great as he claims then he'll be happy to see ricky getting the shorter end of the purse or even giving up hometown advantage because he should know that if he gets paid a 'poor' purse in this bout and wins... he can name his price for future fights and have them all staged at the city of manchester stadium earning funny money. .

It was, after all, good enough for Danny Williams to do. A route which Warren himself thought was a great plan.

It just goes to show how gullible people are when they believe and post garbage.

I will bet anyone 1000 quid that hatton doesn't fight Tszyu EVER!!!

I will bet anyone here another 1000 quid that hatton doesn't fight Witter/Mayweather/Harris/Judah or Cotto either.

I will definately pay up.

I will take this bet on with anyone right now. Just post a reply and we can get it on.

isnt it a sad state of affairs when no one, except those who know nothing or are the most gullible, believe a word that comes out of the mouth of britian and europes "leading promoter".

I do genuinely think it's a shame the level of credibility that hatton and Warren have but they've brought it on themselves. I mean, the tszyu fight just isn't going to happen, much less in Manchester. That means a 4am start whihc is highly unlikely.

He said he wants Gatti but otherwise Mayweather or Spinks and he has informed his manager that. he said he has nothing more to prove and he wants these fights to put him no1 on the P4P list.

He will get those fights only if he would leave "The world´s best promoter" and the lovely city of Manchester.

Hatton will never fight Tysu.... if he does he will be outclassed! he'll find out the difference between facing a true champion and ring worn 35+ year-olds is quite a large one! especially when it hits him on the nose and knocks him out!.... his style is made for tsyu.... 8)

warren and hatton are waiting for Tyzsu to retire.....

no one can really expect Hatton to win this...

Kosta has shown over the past 13 years that he can adapt his style to beat anyone (bar Philips where he seemed to be overconfident and under prepared). He has beaten boxers, sluggers, movers, brawlers.....

Hatton HAS not faced a live puncher in his career... YES I know Tackie is a puncher, but he couldnt land anything as his feet and hands are too slow..

Hatton will slide to his left to drop a body shot and Tyzsu will KO him with the lightning right hand....

Cant fight Gatti because he already has his next fight lined up.. and i may be wrong but straight after that he has Mayweather to deal with as mandatory.

Plus the Showtime/HBO nonsense.

OK, Tszyu was just on Fox Sports news and said he has been told of the Hatton fight and would think about it and whether he deserves to fight him. His manager was then interviewed and he said Why Hatton Why March and Why Manchester. He said Tszyu would not fight until May or June and said they would prefer Mayweather as his opponent. His manager also said that Tszyu would prefer to fight in the US and didn't seem to interested in going to England.
Tszyu said money dosn't matter to him and never has so his decision will come down to who he wants to fight as he won't be fighting much longer. He said Mayweather is his dream fight as he fought his uncle and would love to fight Mayweather as the winner would become the P4P no1.
