Dont hold your breath for Virgin and Vision to be up and running by Saturday whatsoever folks.

Get your laptop, plug it directly into your modem (not wirelessly) and then if you have video/audio outputs, connect them to your TV.

Infact if you have a modern computer and a modern TV they should have HDMI connections, so just bang it up on the big screen that way.

PS- Carl said Saturday that the weigh in would be on at 5pm in Nottingham market square for those who can make it.

I'm taking shots so will put them up anyway, plus the regional news videos.

Well at least we can watch it online then which is better than nothing I suppose!

I certainly hope a proper TV company will pick up Froch's next fight in the tournement which is scheduled to be Kessler in the first half of next year! If it's in the UK, I'll almost certainly try to attend that one though.

Well if Froch had decent press releases he would get better viewing figures that he has!

A man with wins against Jean Pascal and Jermain Taylor(arguably as good as ANYTHING Joe did) should be a national icon, the fact he isnt is very poor!

I am so glad I got tix for this with the joke tv coverage situation. I am on Virgin Media so would have only had the option of a stream and I hate streams with a passion tbh, the quality just isn't good enough to properly enjoy the fight imho, you miss the little subtle things with the glitchy pics you usually get.

Too be fair, the last stream by Omnisport for the fight against Taylor was pretty good, i'm not aware of anyone having any problems with the quality for that stream.. i know mine was fine.

I'm pretty optamistic that this one will be fine aswell but we shall have to wait and see, i know there is a pause, rewind & fast forward facillity with this stream though so fingers crossed for the picture quality.

That's because Calzaghe had somebody who knows how to promote.

German fans get a better deal as usual, not only is Abraham/Taylor on free to air ARD TV, but it's on at the fan friendly time of 10pm. They're not showing Froch though..

Here's a couple of posts made by Primetime in the last couple of days on other various Boxing forums (these came from Boxing scene)

Hi all,

We’ve noticed that there’s lots of comments and speculation about Primetime around on message boards so wanted to introduce ourselves and be available to answer any questions. Primetime came about after our production team of boxing fans had had enough of British fighters not being recognised. Our MD caught wind that the Froch V Dirrell fight was struggling for a UK broadcast partner and began to look into whether we could launch a channel in time for the first Super Six bout. Thanks to our partners at Hennessy and help through some other big names from the boxing world, the moons aligned and here we are today. Primetime is currently showing clips of the last two Froch fights free to air every evening between 7-10pm and getting ready for an awesome live fight night this Saturday.
At the moment we are gauging the public’s response to Primetime and looking into launching across further platforms other than Sky for future events. In the mean time we WILL be streaming the fight live via primetimelive on 17th for all of those who don’t have the Sky platform. We simply haven’t had enough time to launch on other platforms yet.
We are committed to bringing these fights which have been overlooked by other channels to the wider British public and will also look to broadcast and stream other sports, comedy and live shows in the future. Simply because some events you can’t afford to miss.

Please feel free to PM us here, comment in the forum or contact us at primetimelive with any questions you have or want answering. You are the fans, we’re here to listen and hopefully help.

Thanks,

Jess at Primetime

Then someone posted concerns about the Quality and that it currently isn't the best to which they sent this reply...

Well to try and answer your questions...

We have tried to bring this fight to as many boxing fans as we can by
launching on the Sky platform and streaming live online. There simply
wasn't enough time to launch on any other platforms as we only came on
board at the last minute to make sure this fight got at least one
outlet. We are sorry it's not on Virgin Media, we have provided another
option but you know what they say, you can't please all of the people
all of the time!

The quality is going to be fine, like any other channel. The footage
being shown at the moment is from the US and in a different aspect ratio
to what the channel is set up for so does look at bit grainy. The fight
night footage will not look like this.

The links to buy on the site do all work fine as far as we can tell. It
might be the browser or internet service provider you are using. If you
want to buy online please email [email protected] where our
support team will help you or call the sales line number - 0871 200
4444.

Cheers

I'm not sure if they stream the fights Live as the moderators are actual friends with Froch, no financial gain to be made for him there. I think they stream the fights the following day. They are decent lads on that site, send them an email they'll be sure to send you a reply

Yes mate, it's available to anyone who isn't subscribed to the Sky platform. It's £12.95 with a £2.50 subsciption fee (what this is for i have no idea!) You have to sign up with the site to enable you to purchase the event though.

The stream will have a fast forward , rewind & pause facillity. I sent an email to Primetime today asking for some details on the stream and they have said they are doing the streaming themselves at 900k... They wouldn't answer the question when asked about if any commentary would be available but i have heard it'll be done by McGuigan & Martin Tyler but we shall have to see, that one is just a rumour...

Cheers for the info, I'm not too fussed about the commentary team, just as long as I get too see it. :TU:
They did say though that the NEXT event would be available on Virgin Media & BT Vision. They didn't have the time to conclude certain criteria this time, hence the stream....I hope it works as Boxings in dire need of this sort of channel

If you sign up for the online stream are you able to save the fight to your hard-drive once the stream's finished?

I'm on virgin and i'm afraid 15 quid for an online stream of the fight is way more than i'm prepared to pay.

I'll be going to watch it with my mate Justin i think.

Possibly, all depends what they make from this fight i guess... If the numbers don't add up, they'll pack up & move on. I do know they are looking into the Ward Vs Kessler fight though at the minute.

has anyone said whether this fight will be on delayed on any free channels?

Also, is American TV showing Taylor/Abraham? You would think they would have made time demands if they were...

Showtime is showing them all. Unfortunately though Abraham - Taylor is a much bigger TV draw in Germany than Froch - Dirrell is in the UK, hence the timings

Im livefight, just little old me. Plus a few good guys in the forum.

Originally, there was going to be an embeddable player on the livefight site, which people could test their connection speed and then buy it if they wish.

Im not 100% this will be the case in time for Saturday so at present it's just a clickable link through to PrimeTime's 'purchase stream' page.
