It seems pretty balanced- why not?
Just dont sound right to me....

as we all know Earl is shot&woodhouse is a novice.....yes woodhouse will prob win but shouldnt put him in wiv a ex world title challanger....would the board allow woodhouse vs Rees or woodhouse vs Lynes i think not....

If Rees lost in the first round to Henry Castle then why not.

Woodhouse for me.

Earl is finished, and a loss here should be enough to convince Earl it is all over.

Despite our opinions on whether Earl is finished or not and in addition whether Woodhouse is any good - it is an intriguing fight mainly down to the questions posed!!!

I like Graham Earl - he is a top man who was a good fighter - just wish he called it a day.

Actually, that very fight showed how worried people are about Earl - he was fighting Karl "36-40" Taylor, of all people, but fans were awaiting the result. Yes, Earl did what he should have done, but the very fact he was fighting Taylor and it was NOT seen as a foregone conclusion is pretty damning.

They allowed Rees v Johnny Greaves (2-36) so why not?

IF Graham Earl is considered fit to continue boxing then like it or not, this is his current level after losing in 1 to Castle. Earl looked fairly unsteady even before the Katsides fight (being pretty much out on his feet against Bennett and the performance he put in against Ramirez) and it's a shame he feels he needs to continue.

I don't like this fight. Earl is shot to pieces for me and the fact that he has retired twice indicates he knows that. The match will likely be made at 10-3ish, around half a stone over his best weight, and it will be sad to see him lose to a much bigger guy-Woodhouse coming down from welter remember-who will beat the name of Earl only.

Also, didn't Woodhouse weigh around 12st when he was playing football?

Yea but hes lost a lot of weight when trianing for boxing matches
he wont be that weight now.

i think its a fair enough fight if there both same weight

Woodhouse isnt very good and earl is nowhere near his best

Skill wise Earl has major advantages,

If he loses this then he should defo retire.

He looks very Glazy eyes these days , his resistance has gone.

i think we are doing curtis a bit of dis-service here too. he is by no means a rubbish fighter, he is not some unfit journeyman with a x factor defence of crossed arms.

he is a domestic contender in his own right, a hard little bugger with a decent dig and who works the body very well indeed.

graham earl was a world title gate keeper sort of level, since those days he has dropped in form and found himself beaten and beaten early by fighter(s) who he would have beaten with ease and while in his prime.

is woodhouse a much worse fighter than henry castle? ----- personally i think not, especially as curtis is the bigger fella.

the bottom line, as far as im concerned, is that if earl is not 60% of what he was then he will get beaten and stopped, against khan and castle earl was not 20% of what he was, and i think this is because katsides beat the career out of him !!

so for me its a decent stoppage win for woodhouse, against graham earl (by name only) in about the 5th round !!

Atleast its a more competitive fight, instead of the usual prospect Vs journeyman. Fair play for both for taking it, could be a lose lose fight.

SK i don't agree 'competitive'

quite apart from the fact that Woodhouse is a live body and Earl isn't, woodhouse is- what? 6 foot and natural weight over 11stone

Earl is too small for Curtis quite apart from him being shot, IMO

plus, defensively, Earl is no Peter Buckley and that is an understatement. he has lived and died by being able (and as his career's gone on less able) to trade 1 shot of his for 2 of someone else's

whether or not earl has mixed in higher company this match has nasty potential for my money :-?

This is exactly the right fight for woodhouse really , its a name , and one that is definately there to be knocked out , we know its not a great acheivement as woodhouse is naturally the bigger man and earl is long past his best but from a promotional point of view its a good fight for woodhouse , a freind of mine , karl chiverton , has been screaming for woodhouse to fight him for a while now but despite woodhouse giving it all the right noises he just never seems to let it happen , last time he ducked out and opted for a journeyman and look what happened , id like to see woodhouse get through this which im sure he will , and then step up to the plate to fight chiv, who incidently needs to get soem fight in himself , hes been so focused on woodhouse that he has forgot to get in the ring himself , CHIV , TAKE A FIGHT , THE RIGHT FIGHT, AND THEN KO WOODHOUSE FOR ALL THE BAD MOUTHING HES DONE .
some of the guys on here may not know about all the woodhouse trash talking thats been going on locally from when he played footy for mansfield , but believe me , in boxing circles , woodhouse is not liked in greater nottinghamshire .
but back to the point , woodhouse wins against earl , looks good and adds a name to his record , albeit a name that is long past it .

i cant remember exactly what was said but theres even a facebook group for woodhouse vs chiverton and both have said there pennies worth on there too , search for it and have a read but i remember woodhouse , and his fans too was giving it the big un on there , there was even woodhouse fans threatening chiverton fans , hes said in local press he would " spark chiv out " etc etc , the facebook group was only made , beacause of the aninmosity between them so anything on there is after woodhouse had the chance to think about what he was saying etc , hes not a prick on the level of del boy chisora but hes still a prick nonetheless
