Edison Miranda and Yuri Boy Campas 2005 fights

Post by Reenthelawman »

Dear Editors,

The BoxRec database recognizes two Edison Miranda fights in 2005 (vs. Jose Varela on Jun 16, 2005 and vs. Sherwin Davis on Oct. 21, 2005) as NABA Middleweight Title Fights. Those indications are incorrect. Indeed, both the WBA and NABA ratings archives confirm that Miranda was never recognized as NABA champion.

The same holds true for the Yuri Boy Campas vs. Esteban Camou fight of September 30, 2005. Once again, the WBA and NABA archives demonstrate that Campas was never the NABA champion.

Please correct the database accordingly.

Thank you.

Dear Editors,

After some further research, I have confirmed that the two Miranda fights that were incorrectly indicated as NABA title fights (see above), were in fact NABO title fights. This is confirmed by the fact that the NABO recognized Miranda as its champions from June 20, 2005 to December 5, 2005 (as per its website). Therefore, could you please add reference to the NABO Middleweight Title having been at stake for the Varela and Davis figths.

Thank you.

Boxrec says that the IBF and WBO Latino middleweight titles were at stake in the fights featuring Miranda versus Varela or Davis respectively, but not the NABO title.

BoxRec still states that the NABA title was on the line in the Campas vs. Camou fight.

The above-mentioned cases still need correcting.

The NABO title is now registered besides the other titles :TU:.

The NABA title is still stated, which is incorrect according to the second paragraph of this thread's initial post.

Just a minor observation if of any interest:

The name is Luis Ramon "Yori Boy" Campas, not "Yuri".

Thank you.

The NABA ratings indeed never show Campas to be the NABA middleweight champion so that his fight with Camou on September 30, 2005 cannot have been for the NABA middleweight title.
