I've just called the number listed on Primetime and was asked to press "1" to register. Then the automated message asked me to press "1" again if I wanted to buy the event at the special price of £12.95, which I did. I then had to enter in my SKY viewing card number, which I did, and then my telephone number, okay. I was then greeted by a message saying "Unfortunately your sky viewing card number appears to be incorrect". To obtain your correct number go press Services on your SKY remote blah blah to obtain your correct number. So I do that only to discover this number is exactly the same as the one listed on the back of my card!
I've tried three more times unsuccessfully to purchase so, unfortunately folks, I'll be missing out on this too. It shouldn't be this hard, a) for a fighter of the calibre of Froch not to be on an established channel or b) for those few diehards who want to see him on Primetime to be able to simply order it with minimum fuss.
The Hennessy Sports PR team have been working overtime to plug Froch-Dirrell and have even requested that media outlets please plug that the fight can be watched on Primetime when mentioning it. My personal experience has been infuriating. Before anyone asks, I do have a telephone line which is connected to SKY so I can't understand what the problem is.

I have done mate, about an hour ago without a response as yet. I know you personally have been extremely helpful to everyone here. I have found this Primetime experience infuriating so far. Unless they get back to me this evening I won't be getting it.

There's 2 boxing enthusiasts this whole process has put off and they can now shove it up there f*cking arse!!!
Furious!!!
Hi Spud,
Try ordering it via the website @ primetimelive.co.uk . Click on the button for TV and register. You can then insert your SKY card details and order the event by debit card. I entered exactly the same details online as I did when I tried to order by phone but the website has appeared to have processed my order.
Fingers crossed. I was getting ready to punch the walls until Ann-Marie stepped in and ordered it me through the website. Try it. Good luck.

I've had hassle trying to order the webstream. Emailed support at about 2pm but haven't heard back. I don't know if I've ordered it once, twice or not at all. Real pain in the fornicating arse!
Did exactly the same thing Ben - however no money has been taken from my account yet as I have checked with online banking.
When you are giving personal details - I certainly like some form of confirmation and none has been received - who knows who has got my details now!!!
In this world of identity fraud etc etc who knows!!! - just fortunate on this occasion whoever trys to rob my account is welcome to the overdraft which has enough money left on it for this PPV showing only.
Seriously though I was more than happy to support Meaty Mick and those at Hennessy Sports with this but the customer service is at best shoddy and at worst I would put them in the w*nkers bracket!!!
When people do not have a lot of money and they part with the little they have for events like this - they want just a tadge of service
Not some form of lottery where you register your details but have no confirmation you have the event booked and ready to go - what this present process - is yeah go on sucker register - then wait and see if we decide to bother to give you your viewing!!!!

I can empathise with you mate. What should be a minute job has been a confusing and frustrating process. I feel bad in some ways because I genuinely want to see Froch and support him but I'm a little irritated by Hennessy Sports' apparent inability to dot the 'i's' and cross the 't's' when it comes to television.
I've perservered with this because I think Froch-Dirrell is going to be a cracker but I do fear many others will turn their back and not bother. I always, rightly or wrongly, buy boxing pay-per-views. I remember buying Tyson-Neilson and even Graham Earl and Kevin Bennett when Frank Maloney dabbled with Setanta back in 2005. So, I'm not anti PPV, but christ surely things should be dead easy in 2009.

Sh*t sh*t very f*cking sh*t!!!
They should provide confirmation, both of payment and that the event has been ordered so I share your frustrations. They needed to make this whole process as simple as possible and, sadly, it's not.

Unreliable and very poor quality, 99% of the time. For the past 2 years I've been using streams for a lot of the US fights. I did use a paid website, StreamTVNow, but they closed down and opened up shop using a different name, swallowing my money.
You have been fantastic advertising this Froch fight and other aspects of boxing mate - spot on!!!
But stubborness has now taken over - I have done what has been asked of me on the primetime site - I have done what was asked of me on the phone!!!
I am not going to grovel or go on another wild goose chase for something I paid for!!!
I suspect the thing will appear on my screen tomorrow - however I have given confidential details on a website - I have received absolutely no confirmation and that tells me everything I need to know about the customer service.
Just got through and they couldn't really help me with the internet booking. Took my details and said someone will get back to me tomorrow. In the meantime I tried booking the ineternet stream online again and it all went through smoothly.
chinny wrote:If this half arsed over complicated sign up process is turning off computer literate boxing addicts like us then they have no chance with anyone else.
I'm very, very sorry to say this but this PPV will bomb badly.
The thing is Chinny - I and many of us wanted it to do well - boxing needs it to do well - all that was required was a professional approach and a little attention to detail concerning customer service that is all - because it would have then been up to the boxers to put on a spectacle!!!
very frustrating - booked for TV via the website and have no idea if this is going to work. Viewing number and card details seemed to be accepted. They say if you dont view they wont charge the £12.95 so would only potentially lose £2.50. If that happens I want my £2.50 back. Still worried money is going to appear on my sky bill when I ok this on the night!!!!

In the same boat. Have just fired off an e-mail to them to get confirmation that my purchase has definitely registered. Got a mail back asking for my viewing card no. Replied again and will see what they come back with. Main interest is purely in ensuring that I am definitely going to see the fight and that I'm not charging about like a mad man trying to sort it out tomorrow night.
