Perhaps the problem was that Danny needed no extra motivation, but in fact would have benefitted from sound tactical advice, possibly it was a miscalculation, it's hard to say.
I personally think that Danny didn't want to quit, as I said before, I don't think he was being pressured into continuing, but rather I think he hoped he could find that one big shot to hurt Vitali and turn the fight, which up until about the 6th round seemed possible. After that, it was just pride, but there's nothing wrong with that in my book.

On the same night in America, Demarcus Corley outpointed Darryl Tyson in a 10-rounder. The world class Corley floored Tyson in third and won every round on the scorecards.
Tyson had fought six times in eight years. He is 44.

He was truly awful in the Williams corner, in fact the bloke was an embarassment to boxing. I would say he was one of the worst cornermen I've come across in pro boxing. When he started saying his kids were watching I felt sorry for Williams but at the same time I was gobsmacked at how he was trying to use that as some kind of motivation for Danny. Everyone knew he was getting beaten to a pulp and the ending was inevitable, so why bring his kids into it?
The thing is as has already been said, Danny wasn't quitting! he kept getting up and going forward and whgat he needed at that point was some calm and considered tactical advice... something which Danny's coner seemed totally incapable of!. Why are Sports Network so worried about something said about them on an Internet forum? Most are opinions. Answer me this. Does FW not regulary use his column in a national newspaper to slate his rivals and anything else he feels like? I remember after 35 year old Roy Jones got ko'ed he wrote a column running him down and ACCUSING ROY JONES of never fighting anyone and avoiding challenges. This coming from the man guiding Joe Calzaghe's and Ricky Hattons careers is totally hilarious. These guys are total laughing stocks because of their standard of opposition. Arthur vs Kiza. Harrison vs Kebede. Gomez vs Juuko. Kevin Mitchell vs everyone. What wonderful fights.
