This fight would have been like Thomas Hobbe's view of the world. Or Anne Widdicombe.
Nasty, brutish and short.
Bruno vs Skelton
Re: Bruno vs Skelton
The second Tyson Fight, before it He was got at thats why He was shitting Himself. Only in America
Re: Bruno vs Skelton
I think Bruno was a better fighter the first time he fought Tyson.
He had filled out by the second fight and that had made him more robotic.
Bruno would have got to Skelton quick thats for sure.
Frank had very good matchmaking though when you look at it apart from Boncrusher and his world title fights none were really good fighters.
He was penciled in once to fight Ray Mercer but it didnt come off thankfully for him.
It shows you what training and strict diet can do though no stuffing your face like Danny Williams ;;-)

Bruno was better than hes giving credit for
what they said
Lewis was Champoins league
Bruno was Premiership
there are perhaps half a dozen Brit Coca Cola Championship fighters
Matt Skelton is AFC Wimbledon. Conference. Route one. I love him, but he is an honest tryer.

Re: Bruno vs Skelton
I was one of Bruno's biggest fans as a kid. I loved that guy so much - even when I found out he was a tory I was still
a big fan.
Bruno (along with Bobby Robson) was one of the most villified sporting figures in the sporting press during the 1980s - some people - including Harry Mullan thought Bruno was in serious danger of getting killed in the ring when he was scheduled to fight Tyson for the first time -
which if you think about it - seems a bit silly now but it is good to see Big Frank getting his just due after all this time.
I don't think a prime Bruno would have beaten a prime Bugner though - Bugner is one of the few fighters who possessed something
like Brunos physique but Bugner was also a distance fighter who could go 15 rounds - which in all fairness to Bruno - thats not something
he could do.
Bugner was also very durable, had fast hands and had a good dig on him and was very defensively adept - I cannot see a prime Bruno
beating a prime Bugner.
Bruno vs Skelton - Bruno would have stopped Skelton in around 6 one-sided rounds. As for Bruno vs any other British heavyweight in history? You have to take in account that even as late as John L. Gardner in 1981 - the average British heavyweight was only around 14 and a half stone, so there wouldn't have been many heavyweights in the past that could have been competitive with Bruno based on size and strength alone. Good fighters like Cooper, Erskine, London, Woodcock etc wouldn't have stood a chance.

Re: Bruno vs Skelton
Skelton would have demolished Bruno.
He has superior chin, incredible stamina- something Bruno never had.
Skelton's workrate would have Bruno knackered after 3 rounds.
Skelton by K.O. easily!
