Jesus christ theres days where we have flu and dont get out of the effing bed because of a poxy cold virus and yet the boxing public demands a man gets the life punched out of him just so he is not labelled a quitter.
Every punch from a non puncher was hurting Hunter, he was being beaten up by a smaller man, he was mentally and physically beaten, the man has shown us all enough courage in previous fights (a la Pickering) to know he has balls the size of pomegranites.
There have been enough injuries and death from this game, all we do by labelling fighters as quitters is give someone the incentive to carry on for one last round and perhaps take a telling blow.
Green was already looking at getting Hunter out of there anyway, if it had been a non title 10 rounder either he or Fannan would have got Hunter out before the actual retirement.

And this thread shows that that is exactly what I did straight away. Others want to try following suit. I even went so far as to keep my cash off this one, even though based on previous I thought Hunter was good value, for the sole reason, that in entertainment terms over the years, Michael Hunter has paid me back the face value of my ticket a thousand-fold. I don't have any intrest in trying to make a bit of quick cash while he gets punched after what he's given the sport, AND the region!

Jason 2 Smooth Booth saved Nottingham's face this weekend with that scintillating performance, albeit against a now limited opposition (didn't I just learn it!!!). That boy can surely crack when he wants to.....for a show that essentially lacked atmosphere and passion (for the majority), JB's performance was the saving grace.

The thing is, due to regional, historical and other allegiances I'm more a Hunter fan than a Booth fan....
Do you view it as an impossibility that in an individual sport like boxing somebody could be a fan of BOTH fighters in a fight??
