Jose Alfaro (8-0, 8kos) was due to fight Orlando Membreño (12-4) this thursday December 16th. Mr. Membreño recently hurt his hand while practicing and will therefore face Mr. Alfaro sometime late january or early february of 2005.
Mr. Alfaro will now be facing Jaime Vargas "la foca" or " the seal" which is currently 8-3. The local nicaraguan newspaper la Prensa reported an abreviated version of this at the following web page.

Jose was nominated for pro athlete of the year in Nicaragua according to the asociated press but finished 4th in the votings, he did get the most votes out of all pro boxers.

Record for Jose Alfaro.

Post by sconradojr »

Jose record continues to be incorrect. As I mentioned before he kod Yader Polanco in the 8th round almost a year ago. His record should read 9-0 with 9kos. He is currently scheduled to fight Orlando Membreño this April 1st at Pharaohs Casino subject to a doctors waiver. Mr. Membreño has a wound on his fore head due to an accidental head butt. If he is not able to fight there is a big chance he might fight against Carlos Mariena.
