SO IS THE GUY I WAS AGREEING WITH FROM NOTTINGHAM ?????? DIDNT SOUND LIKE HE WAS FROM HIS POST HAVING JUST GOT HOME FROM NOTTS , OH AND TO POINT OUT , I MAY LIVE IN NOTTS BUT IM CLOSER TO SHEFFIELD THAN NOTTINGHAM . DONT BELIEVE TERRY D IS FROM NOTTINGHAM EITHER . DONT ASSUME THAT SOMEONE LIVES IN NOTTINGHAM JUST COS THERE FAVOURING FROCH . WHAT ON EARTH IS THE POINT IN SCORING IT FOR YOUR OWN BENIFIT TO KNOW WHOS WINNING ETC , IF YOUR JUST GONNA MAKE UP WHATEVER YOU WANT DUE TO SUPPORTING A PARTICULAR FIGHTER , IM NOT THAT NIAVE NOR ARE MANY POSTERS , I AM NOT ARGUING THAT SOME PEOPLE SAW THE FIGHT DIFFERENTLY TO ME THATS KINDA THE REASON THERES 3 JUDGES INSTEAD OF 1 FOR BIG FIGHTS , WHATS DOING MY HEAD IN IS THE WAY PEOPLE ARE TRYING TO RIDICULE ANYONE SAYING FROCH WON , MAJORITY OF PEOPLE WHO WENT TO IT SAW A FROCH WIN AND MAJORITY OF PEOPLE WATCHING ON TV SAW DIRRELL WIN , AND THE PEOPLE WHO COUNT , THE JUDGES WERE AT THE FIGHT WITHOUT THE BENEFIT OF TV SO REGARDLESS , THEY SCORED WHAT THEY SAW , END OF .
Damian, the only people who seem to have scored this for Froch are the people who went.
What i gauge from this is that people in the crowd can see Froch coming forward, but couldn't see that Froch weren't landing.
The majority of people who watched it on tv, gave it to Dirrell (i ignore the nuthuggers). Even the ringside reporters had Dirrell up. You might go on about judges but considering how flawed they seem to be, i'll go on what respectable people say (as well as my own opinions).
Can you understand this and will you watch the fight again on tv? I somehow feel you've said too much already to back track, but am sure your opinions will differ once you've seen the fight up-close.

JUST NO REASON FOR PRATS TO ARGUE THE TOSS , ESPECIALLY ABOUT WHETHER CAPS IS ON OR OFF GOT NOWT TO DO WITH IT . IF IM NOT ALLOWED TO BELIEVE THAT FROCH WON FROM WHAT I SAW AND EXPRESS MY OPINION IN A FORUM IT SORT OF DEFEATS THE POINT OF HAVING A FORUM DONT YOU THINK
AND ID REFUSE TOO , JUST OF PRINCIPLE , WHO THE EFF ARE YOU TO TELL ME WHAT TO DO , YOU KNOW WHAT , IF SOMEONE HAD POLITELY PM'D ME IN THE FIRST PLACE MAYBE ID HAVE TURNED CAPS OFF , BUT YOU CAN BOLLOCKS

WHY SHOULD I CARE WHO I ANNOY , SINCE WHEN HAS ANYONE ON HERE DURING THIS WHOLE BULL SHIT CONSIDERED IF THEY ANNOYED ME , THEY DIDNT . JOG ON
Maybe in future, boxing judges should sit at home and score the fight in front of their TVs? After all, you get a much better view on TV than you do at ringside, eh?
I got the impression that Dirrell won (on my TV), but to say the opinons of the people who actually attended don't count is a bit silly really. You can argue that objective viewers in the arena were swayed by raucous, drunken fans but equally, you could argue that I was swayed by the commentators.
These ***ts on here hate it when I used to do the ... between some of my sentences ... so I changed it to - and now look how many of the sweaty ***ts do it themselves.
If you keep up with the caps and maybe introduce a bit of colour here and there - now that will really annoy them and make me laugh!!!
Terry D wrote:Why don't we do some mad-bastard move where we all agree that the fight had two points in it either way and that the point deduction, although undeserved, pushed it into the three-point margin? I'm not willing to stake my life on a Froch win as there is no cast-iron criteria for saying that he 110% won the fight. Same for Dirrell. Punch stats won't clear this up, they'll just add to the debate. Everyone has gone a bit mental over it. We should stop and sniff the roses, or watch America's Next Top Model, it starts at 9.

spot on mate!!!
I might follow suit!!!
and then you wonder why people when they get the opportunity round on you and pick on you spud....
Im happy the majority on here had Froch winning. Ive been reading some bizzare scorecards. Badlefthook gave it 117-110. OK i understand the case Dirrell may have been knicking it by one round but no more. On my card (I was sitting in the press so yet to rewatch it) i had Froch winning by 2. Now i score fights based on agression and ring genrealship along with who i fought was landing the cleaner shots. I saw Froch coming forward all night, I saw Froch landing a sweet jab many a time to Dirrell's face and i saw Dirrell backing off and running away all night along with complaining to the referee constantly and obviously the point dedutcion. At one point the ref even said "Do you want to fight".
However Dirrell showed he can mix it at the top of the division and i can see if he changes this negativity into more positive actions (As Froch said) he can really trouble Abraham.

i honestly think judges should watch in a monitor, i've sat in press row plenty of times and the view is far from ideal, watching the fight from the elevated view of the cameraman gives a much better overall view of the action.

You can also lose the impact of the shots via TV. There and pros and cons on both sides. I find that I can read a fight better on-site. I remember the impact of Murray's shots in the MEager fight, they felt immense at ringside. They looked strong from the TV as well but there was less of the 'wow' factor you get when up-close.
The crowd reaction makes no difference in my opinion. You tune it out. I've sat just behind Jim Watt and Adam Smith at contests and tuned out every word they say. You go home and watch the commentary and think, 'Did he say that?!'
Froch-Dirrell seems to have caused some mild hysteria amongst us all. It reminds me of that film with James Woods where his TV causes him to bonkers.
Quite easy to solve, onmidirectional microphones. Crowd reaction makes a difference during those times where you are unsighted and you have to work out if the shot landed.
I've scored fights from both, and I've always preferred the all around view of TV, and the real sign of how meaty a shot is, is the opponent's reaction.

I don't think it's the majority. Dirrell's options are spread over 9 choices
