That fight was Valuev (29th fight) against Taras Bidenko (in his 4th fight!), a relatively light puncher. Here's a write up:

Highlights of this bout can be seen on youtube. In round 11, the inexperienced and unknown Bidenko, behind on points, moved forward with effective jab combinations and battered Valuev throughout the round, including a nine punch combination that had Valuev in serious trouble. Despite having only three fights experience coming into this bout, and facing a height, reach and weight advantage, Bidenko remained competitive throughout this twelve round bout, and with a good defense, effective jab and foot movement was not hurt or in trouble at any time.

i think hayes got a plan for when valuev leans on him, maybe flurries of body shots, ropa doping then leaning in and hitting, or ducking down and bobing like Benn used to.

I agree that there's a big difference between Bidenko's power and Haye's, but I haven't seen anything to suggest that Haye will KO Valuev. I know it's possible, but I'm struggling to see it play out that way.

Late on in the fight Haye will have slowed as well. And Valuev has very good stamina for a big guy.

He doesn't sound too confident here, not for a boxer anyway...I don't think he's 100% sure he can beat this giant, it's not the same type of confidence he had going into the Enzo fight.

He's fantastic for boxing is David Haye, I'd love to see him do it, but I really think Valuev is going to clatter him in shocking fashion.

My fears are exactly the same on the vulnerability temple shots. That's what scuppered him against Thompson as well. I have a vision of Haye getting caught coming in and slumping onto Valuev.

I agree that he is green for a world class fighter.

But I would not class him as a novice - he was a World class amateur - and European Crusierweight Champion - and won WBC / WBA / WBO titles.

He has sparred with the likes of Danny Williams and Audley over the years.

And beaten guys like Frogemeni in European title fights - who has gone on to be a WBC World Crusierweight Champion himself.

Haye is experienced for he has packed alot into them 23 fights - his pro debut was Tony Booth who had loads of fights - then he was fighting Carl Thompson after only a handful of fights.

I do say though - he is a novice at heavyweight - compared to the Klitshko brothers, etc.

Haye will lose the fight. He doesn't have the defensive skills to avoid Valuevs jab and that will give him problems. Haye will come into the fight believing in his power and believing that he can KO Valuev. He will take a few clubbing punches and get KOd late in the fight as his stamina goes.

Just because a few selection of posters have opted for Valuev on this forum - there are masses of people out there expecting Haye to do the business.

Its not like your picking Buster Douglas to beat the Invincible Mike Tyson or anything.

Haye has got a decent chance of victory - because basically Valuev is very average - the only thing that is exceptional about him is his size.

If Valuev slows down at any point he'll stop all together. If there's every been a mismatch in styles, this is it. I can't wait for this fight to happen, I just don't have a clue how it's going to go, we'll I say that, I'm pretty sure Haye will get caught and go, but if he stays out of range...then...no I don't have a clue.

Despite the fact that gambling is very much illegal across the UAE, there are still opportunities for a little flutter now and again.

At the camel races, one of the country's most traditional events, it is possible to have a cheeky bet without the authorities finding out simply by wearing the right coloured clothing. If you head down to the front of the racetrack sporting a vivid red t-shirt (football tops won't do) then within a minute or two you should feel a tug on your arm by one of the local 'shirka' boys. They don't speak fantastic English but should be able to give you a brief run down of the odds. Choose your winning camel and give the boy your stake (not too obviously) and he'll scarper off.

I'm a bit surprised though that most people are picking Valuev as I was under the impression looking through all types of forums and media sources - just as much people seem to be picking Haye or at least "hoping" he will do it
